Surveillance footage released by the Houston Police Department (HPD) has shed light on a violent shooting incident that occurred in April 2025, leaving one man dead and another injured in southeast Houston's South Belt/Ellington neighborhood.
The video shows two suspects, both wearing hoodies and masks, driving away from the scene in a white Mercedes-Benz sedan. The men are described as unknown individuals by authorities, who believe they were responsible for shooting and killing 26-year-old Daylan Walker and injuring another man also aged 26.
According to HPD, officers responded to a call at 10219 Rolleston Lane around 8:15 p.m. on April 23, 2025. Upon arrival, they found Walker unresponsive inside the garage suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspects then fled in their car, leaving behind another man who had been shot and injured while at home. He was later taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
HPD is urging anyone with information about the suspects or their identities to come forward. The department has set up a hotline for individuals to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600, as well as an anonymous tip line through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

I'm not buying that this surveillance footage is going to help solve the case that easily... have we just seen too many movies with similar scenes? 
It's just a car, two guys in hoodies driving off into the night... what are the chances it'll lead us anywhere? 
I'm all for keeping our communities safe but do we really need to rely on this technology so much? What about the tech itself? Is that gonna be the next thing that's compromised or hacked? 
I'm so sick of these senseless shootings in our city! Can't we just have a peaceful night without getting caught up in some drive-by shooting? These two masked men just walked in and started spraying bullets everywhere... it's like they thought they could just take someone's life and get away with it. I mean, what even is the point of that?! The fact that they left another guy injured and got in their car and drove off like nothing happened... it's just unbelievable 
. And now we're supposed to be scared of some masked men driving around in a Mercedes-Benz? It's just not right 
. We need to do better, Houston! We need to come together as a community and find a way to stop this senseless violence

! You'd think with all the advances in security cameras and whatnot they'd be able to catch those guys by now. I mean, who just goes around shooting people for no reason?

. What really worries me is that we don't know who these guys were or why they did it... was it a hate crime? 
Was it just a random act of violence? So many questions and not enough answers... I hope the police can get to the bottom of this soon

This is straight fire why do these dudes have to resort to violence? 26-year-old dude gets shot and killed in his own garage like what's the point of that? 
And another guy ends up getting hurt, just because they had a beef with Daylan Walker. The police are on it tho, HPD is doing their thing. I hope whoever recorded this footage has a good camera system, 'cause now everyone's eyes are on these suspects 
. They should totally get caught and face the music. It's not like they're trying to hide from anything 
can you imagine being in that situation with no idea what's happening or who these people are? and now his family has to deal with all this pain and uncertainty 
let's hope they find out who did this and bring them to justice soon
. And to think that's a real-life scenario, leaving 2 young men dead and one more injured 
. This just shows us how senseless violence can be in our communities... need to stay vigilant and look out for each other

. I mean, what's the point of even doing that? It's just gonna make it harder for people to identify you in case something bad happens. And now these two dudes are running away from the cops with some guy shot up in the backseat... 
. The fact that they wore masks doesn't make it any less shocking, it's like they wanted to hide their faces from humanity 
. It's crazy how fast police responded and how quickly the whole thing went down. I hope the guys who set up those hotlines get some info soon so justice can be served
