12 stunning photos of icy Lake Michigan in Chicago’s deep freeze

Umm... I'm thinkin', have you guys ever noticed how they're always tryin' to distract us from the real issues with these cold snaps? Like, yeah, it's freezin' in Chicago, but what about all the people who are gettin' paid to be there, takin' pics and writin' articles? Tyler Pasciak LaRiviere is just a face, you know? What's his real story? And Vanessa Lopez, audience engagement specialist... sounds like a fancy way of sayin' "we're tryin' to get more likes on social media". I mean, have you seen the pics? They're nice and all, but are they really tellin' us what's goin' on behind the scenes? Or are we just bein' fed some propaganda about how harsh it is out there? 🤔

Just got back from Chicago 🤣💨, and let me tell you, that cold snap was WILD! ❄️ I felt like I was living in a movie or something 😂. The way the ice formed on everything, it was like nature's own art show 🎨. And those people jogging along the Lakefront Trail? They're crazy brave, lol! 💪. I'm not even joking, I needed a fire to warm up just walking around outside 😂. Anyways, kudos to Tyler Pasciak LaRiviere for capturing all these amazing pics 📸 and Vanessa Lopez for engaging with the audience 👍. Can't wait for warmer weather to come back! ☀️ #ChicagoWeather #ColdSnap #WinterWonderland #JournalismMatters #PhotographyGoals

😊 Just saw those pics of Chicago in the middle of winter and I gotta say, -30°C is COLD!!! 🥶 Like, who needs that kinda chill? Not me, that's for sure! I can barely handle 0°C without freezing my toes off 😂. And have you seen those ice ladders? That's some crazy stuff right there! ❄️ I'm glad the article credits are there, so we know who to thank for sharing those amazing pics with us 🙏.

The Chicago weather situation has been quite fascinating this week 🤔. The wind chill temperatures are simply brutal at -30 degrees ❄️. I think it's interesting how the articles have highlighted the resilience of the locals who still managed to get out and enjoy the (somewhat) beautiful scenery around the city. From people jogging along the Lakefront Trail to snow building up at North Avenue Beach, it's clear that Chicagoans are not ones to shy away from a good challenge 😊.

From a journalistic standpoint, I appreciate how Tyler Pasciak LaRiviere has used his visual journalism skills to capture the essence of this cold snap. The images are vivid and evocative, providing a unique glimpse into life in Chicago during this time. And kudos to Vanessa Lopez for her work as an audience engagement specialist - it's always great to see acknowledgment for the behind-the-scenes team members who help make publications like this happen 🙏.

I was saying how crazy this time of year is in Chicago already! This cold snap they're talking about sounds freezing 🥶! I remember when it snowed last winter, my brother had to shovel his car like 5 times that week lol. But seriously, -30 degrees wind chill? That's no joke ❄️. I hope everyone staying warm and safe out there. The pics of the ice covering everything are insane, I wish I had a ladder that long to get to the top shelf in my garage 😂. And can we talk about how beautiful it looks when snow builds up on the beach? It's like a winter wonderland 🌊🎄. Anyway, gotta say, great job by Tyler Pasciak LaRiviere for capturing all these cool moments (pun intended).

😊 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this crazy cold snap in Chicago! -30 degrees wind chill? That's like, no joke, fam 😂 I've been following those articles and images on social media, and it's insane how people are just chillin' (get it?) outside with all that snow and ice. The pics of the ladder covered in ice made me go "omg what a pain"! 🤣 But at the same time, I can kinda relate to the joggers out there trying to get some exercise despite the freezing temps. I've been trying to stay indoors myself, sippin' hot cocoa and catchin' up on some Netflix 🍫😴
