Windows at Philly's federal courthouse broken by vandals, U.S. Marshals say

Philadelphia's historic federal courthouse took a hit on Monday night when vandals made their mark, shattering two windows at the James A. Byrne Courthouse in Old City. According to investigators, the perpetrators used a cobblestone brick to break the glass, leaving the debris at the scene.

The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that the incident occurred around 10:30 pm and is currently under investigation by the Federal Protective Service (FPS). The agency is reviewing video surveillance footage from the area to identify potential suspects.

While it's unclear whether the vandalism was a targeted act, investigators are looking into connections to similar crimes in the Old City area on Monday. The courthouse, which houses the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, is taking steps to address the damage.

A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that the incident is under investigation and will share updates as more information becomes available. The U.S. Marshals Service and Philadelphia Police Department have yet to comment on the matter.

๐Ÿค” just saw this on the news and I'm so bummed. It's crazy that people would do something like break windows at an old historic building like that. ๐Ÿค• I mean, it's not just a courthouse, it's a piece of history. And those cobblestone bricks are everywhere, you'd think they wouldn't be able to get into the building without being noticed ๐Ÿ˜‚. I hope whoever did this gets caught and they're really held accountable for what they've done ๐Ÿคฏ.

OMG, I'm literally torn about this whole thing ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ฅ... like, part of me is super disappointed that someone would do something so destructive to an historic building, you know? And it's just a courthouse, not like it's some major tourist attraction or anything ๐Ÿ˜. But at the same time, I feel kinda bad for the vandals themselves, idk... maybe they were just trying to make a point about some issue or something ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ?

And I'm also a bit curious - what if this was some kind of protest gone wrong? Like, someone wanted to highlight a problem but ended up causing more harm than good ๐Ÿค”. But then again, maybe it's just some bored kids looking for trouble ๐Ÿ˜’.

Anywayz, it's all kinda messed up right now ๐Ÿ’ฅ... I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out ๐Ÿ‘€

ugh, just another night of vandalism ๐Ÿค•. can't believe some people would resort to smashing stuff like it's nothing ๐Ÿ˜’. i mean, that courthouse has been around for ages, it's a piece of history ๐Ÿ›๏ธ. and now it's just... broken ๐Ÿ’”. and what's even worse is that it might not be an isolated incident ๐Ÿคฏ. they're looking into connections to other crimes in the area, so who knows how long this is gonna take to get sorted out ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. hopefully they catch whoever did this and can fix the courthouse soon ๐Ÿคž. but until then... *sigh* ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿค• Oh man, that's so sad! Philly's historic courthouse got vandalized and now they're dealing with the consequences ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Two windows were shattered and it's not just about the property damage, but also the history and significance of that building ๐Ÿ˜”. I mean, it's not like these vandals can't find something better to do than break stuff and leave a mess behind ๐Ÿ™„. The investigation is ongoing, so hopefully they catch whoever did this and make 'em pay for their actions ๐Ÿ’ธ. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the courthouse can get back to normal soon and that the community can come together to support it ๐Ÿ’•!

Ugh, can't believe people would wanna deface a historic landmark like that ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, it's not like they're some random faceless troll who just wants to leave their mark... no, these vandals are probably trying to send a message about something specific. And what's with the cobblestone brick? Like, who carries around those things in Philly? ๐Ÿ˜’. Anyway, I'm all for strengthening security measures and making it harder for whoever did this to get away, but like, can we also not be so quick to assume it's some random bored teenager? Maybe there's a hidden agenda or something... ๐Ÿค”.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ just heard about this vandals at the Philly courthouse ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ก what's going on with people these days? can't even walk around without breaking something ๐Ÿคฏ two windows shattered, that's just crazy! ๐ŸŒช๏ธ i guess they're looking into it, but like, who knows when we'll know who did it? ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ and why is this happening in Old City? ๐Ÿ“ like, that place is always cool to be around... now it's just vandalism ๐Ÿ˜” hope the court can get those windows fixed ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช

Vandals at it again ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ! Who needs a fancy art show when you can just smash some windows with a cobblestone brick? I mean, what's next, breaking into museums to display your "masterpiece" of destruction? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Just kidding, sorta. On a more serious note, why do these vandals always seem to choose historic buildings like courthouses? Can't they just pick a dumpster or something and be done with it? ๐Ÿšฎ And what's up with the investigation being under review by the FPS? Are they looking for aliens too? "We're not sure if it was a human doing this, but we're going to keep searching the galaxy until we find out." ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ That's so annoying! Who does this, right? Breaking a historic courthouse just because ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. It's like, what's the point of it all? I mean, I get that people might be upset about something, but taking it out on an old building isn't the way to go. And now they have to deal with the hassle of finding who did this and fixing the damage ๐Ÿคฏ. You'd think we've learned our lesson from all the other cool places that got vandalized in the past ๐Ÿ˜”. I hope whoever is behind this gets caught and faces the consequences, but at the same time, can't they just take a deep breath and calm down instead of resorting to destructive behavior? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

just saw this news about philly's historic courthouse getting vandalized ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ what a shame! those cobblestone bricks are everywhere, i'm surprised it took someone that long to break a window lol. hope they catch whoever did this tho ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, its always sad when these kind of incidents happen, like the old city art scene was already getting gentrified... now this too ๐Ÿ˜”

just saw this news about philly's historic courthouse getting vandalized ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... i mean, two windows shattered by some dude with a cobblestone brick? that's just reckless... but at the same time, it's like, what's going on in the world right now? everyone's always talking about how we need to preserve our history and culture, but sometimes these actions feel like they're doing the opposite... i guess you could say the city's got some soul-searching to do... anyway, hope the authorities catch whoever did this and make sure it doesn't happen again ๐Ÿ™

man this is so frustrating ๐Ÿคฏ like who does something like this at midnight? ugh i cant even believe ppl would vandalize a historic building like that... its not just about the money, its about respecting history and the people who worked hard to build it ๐Ÿค‘ i was studying for my exams last nite and didnt even hear anything like this happening anywhere near me ๐Ÿ‘€ do ppl think we dont have enough problems in our lives already? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
