this whole thing feels like a recipe for disaster ... how can you even consider putting 14,000 babies through some trial when we already know hepatitis B vaccines can give long-term effects? and an open-label trial? come on! that's just asking for trouble... i mean what if the vaccine doesn't work out as planned? or worse, what if there are side effects?
This study in Guinea Bissau sounds super sketchy to me... I mean, who do these Danish researchers think they are? They're basically taking 14,000 babies and splitting them into two groups - those who get the vaccine at birth and those who don't... even if it's only six weeks later. What if some of the 'non-vaccinated' group still gets sick from hepatitis B? It's just not right . And open-label trials? Yeah, that's just a fancy way of saying they know which ones got the vaccine and which didn't... what about the people who are actually affected by this study? Have their rights even been considered? I'm low-key worried about these babies being used as guinea pigs . It's like they're trying to recreate some kind of dark history with health trials in minority communities and poorer countries. Can we just focus on getting vaccines out to those who need them, you know?
omg can you believe this? these researchers are like, trying to give vaccines to half the babies and then see what happens... sounds like a real "vaccine-vacation" but seriously, it's just so shady. i mean, who does that?! 14,000 babies, that's like, a whole lotta tiny humans and yeah, magda robalo is totally right, we need to prioritize getting vaccines to these babies ASAP not retesting stuff that could be a total mess. i feel so bad for guinea-bissau, they're already struggling with healthcare issues and now this... what a nightmare
my heart goes out to those poor babies & their families in guinea-bissau this trial sounds super sketchy what if they don't get the real vaccine till 6 weeks later that's a whole lotta uncertainty & risk on those tiny human lives also it's not like the researchers are trying to help or something the fact that some ppl are praising peter aaby after his anti-vaccine advocacy group is just messed up
