Video Shows ICE Agent’s Fatal Shooting of Civilian in Minneapolis

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent has been accused of fatally shooting a 37-year-old woman who was driving her car in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Renee Nicole Good died after being shot multiple times by the agent during an ICE raid on Wednesday morning.

Footage obtained by The Intercept shows that Good's vehicle was stopped by federal agents when she lost control and crashed into another car due to the presence of protesters blocking the road. However, as reported in other news outlets, a video posted online appears to show Renee Nicole Good waving at federal vehicles before getting shot.

According to reports, DHS confirmed that agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had shot Good, describing her as a "riot" who posed a threat to their lives. The Department of Homeland Security claimed in a release that the agents felt threatened when they approached the car, despite footage from different angles indicating otherwise.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey stated that DHS is trying to "spin" the shooting by portraying it as an action of self-defense. The mayor added that he believes DHS's account is false. The incident comes amidst heightened tensions between protesters and law enforcement amid immigration raids.

Local media reported hundreds of community members gathering to protest near the site where Renee Nicole Good was shot. A video shared on social media by a local reporter shows a federal agent firing a chemical irritant at a protester's face at point-blank range.

Renee Nicole Good is the latest in a long line of people who have been killed or injured during immigration-related operations. The Intercept documented cases of federal agents brandishing firearms, shooting less-lethal munitions and tear gas, and beating individuals involved in immigration raids and onlookers documenting these events.

OMG this is just so unbelievable! 🤯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened to that woman, Renee Nicole Good. She wasn't even doing anything wrong, just driving her car after a bunch of protesters were blocking the road. And then these agents come out of nowhere and start firing at her? It's like something out of a horror movie.

And the part where they say she was waving at them before getting shot is just wild. 🤷‍♀️ I mean, I know people get frustrated when there are protests going on, but that doesn't give anyone the right to open fire on someone who isn't even involved in it.

I'm so tired of these immigration raids and the way they're always portrayed as some kind of heroic, self-defense situation. 🙄 It's not heroic, it's just plain wrong. And when people like Mayor Frey say that the DHS is "-spinning" this incident to make it look like a justified act of self-defense... I think he's totally right.

It's amazing how many times we've seen stories about people getting hurt or killed in these kinds of situations, and yet nothing ever changes. 🤦‍♀️ We need better training for our law enforcement officials, and we need to find ways to de-escalate these tense situations without resorting to violence. Our communities deserve so much better than this. 💖

🤯 what's going on with those ICE agents?? 🚨 they're supposed to be enforcing laws not taking lives !! 🤕 a 37-yr-old mom is dead and it's all because she was driving away from a riot 😱 and now the DHS is trying to spin this like it's some kinda self-defense scenario 🙄 meanwhile, we got footage of that agent firing chemical irritants at protesters 👀 and local media is saying it's all about control 🔒 not justice or safety for anyone but the agents themselves 💔

🤕 this is so sad... like what even happened here?! Renee's just driving her car and then BAM she gets shot multiple times. it don't make sense why the agents had to shoot her when protesters were blocking the road. 🚗💔 they're always talking about protecting themselves, but what about when you can de-escalate situations? i feel bad for Renee's family and friends... this is just another example of how things can go wrong during these raids. 😢 the videos show a lot of conflicting info, so we need to figure out what really went down here. 📹

ICE needs to get their story straight 🤦‍♂️. Who was driving the car? Was she waving at them or not? Multiple angles don't lie 📹. And btw, a chemical irritant to the face? That's just unacceptable 😷. They're trying to spin this as self-defense but let's be real, it's a fatal shooting of an innocent woman 💔. The community is speaking out and rightfully so 👊.

OMG this is so messed up 🤯... like, what even is the protocol here? A woman gets shot after losing control of her car because protesters are blocking the road and then the agents are like "oh she was a riot" 🙄. It's just not adding up. The video that shows her waving at them before getting shot doesn't make sense to me... did she try to flee or something? And what's with the DHS trying to spin this as self-defense when it's clear from the footage that the agents were in a bad spot 🤔. We need to know more about what was going on behind those scenes. This just feels like another example of how immigration raids can escalate into tragedy 💔.

😱 OMG this is so messed up! I cant even process how the DHS is saying that Renee was a threat to their lives when those videos are showing her just driving her car and waving at them 🙅‍♀️. It's like they're trying to justify something that's super obvious - she wasn't posing any kind of threat at all 🤷‍♀️.

And can we talk about how this is just another example of why community trust is so broken between law enforcement and immigrant communities? 💔 It feels like the system is just looking for ways to sweep these issues under the rug or blame it on 'riots' instead of taking responsibility for their own actions 🤦‍♂️.

I'm also super concerned about that video of the agent firing chemical irritants at protesters... that's just not acceptable in any situation 😱. It's like they're more interested in using force to suppress dissent than in finding peaceful solutions 🙅‍♂️.

We need to be holding our government officials accountable for this kind of thing - it's time to demand better from our law enforcement agencies 💪.

This is soooo devastating 😩. I mean, can you even believe what happened to Renee? She was just driving her car and then BAM! She's shot multiple times by ICE agents. It's like, who gives someone a reason to think their life is in danger just because they're driving on the road? 🚗💔

And don't even get me started on this video of her waving at federal vehicles before getting shot 🤯. Like, what was she supposed to do? Stop and say "oh wait, I forgot you guys are there"? 😂 It's not like she was trying to be all reckless or anything.

I'm so frustrated with the way this is being spun by DHS and their excuses about self-defense. Mayor Frey is right on point that it doesn't add up 🙄. And have you seen those videos of protesters getting pepper-sprayed at point-blank range? Like, what's going on here?! 😤

This kind of stuff needs to stop. We need to start protecting each other, not targeting people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. 💖 Can we just get some peace and understanding here?! 🙏

🚨 something's not adding up here... DHS is trying to spin this as self-defense but the footage says otherwise 🤔. That video of Renee waving at the agents before getting shot? Yeah right, like she was just being friendly 🙄. And what's with all these ICE raids popping up everywhere? It's like they're trying to incite chaos and then claim it's an accident 💥. The fact that a federal agent fired chemical irritants at protesters' faces? That's just another example of overreach 👎. I'm not saying the agents didn't have reason to be concerned, but DHS needs to come clean about what really happened 🤫. This whole thing reeks of cover-up 😒.

🤕 Oh man this is crazy! Like what's going on here? An ICE agent just shoots a woman multiple times for waving at them 🙅‍♀️... I mean, come on! Can't they see she's not a threat? 🤦‍♂️ The footage shows her getting shot after her car crashes into another one because protesters were blocking the road 🚗👥. It's like they're trying to create an excuse for this senseless violence 💔.

And what's with the DHS trying to spin this as self-defense? 🤷‍♂️ The mayor is totally right, it's not true 🙄. This incident just highlights how messed up our immigration system is 🌪️. We're already living in a time where police and protesters are clashing, now we've got ICE agents running around like they own the place 😬.

And can we talk about this chemical irritant thing for a sec? ⚠️ A local reporter shared video of an agent firing that stuff right into someone's face 👀... how is that even allowed?! 🤯 It just shows how out of control things have gotten with all these raids and arrests 💥. We need to take a step back and figure out what's going on here before more innocent lives get lost 😢

🚨 This is absolutely heartbreaking 😩, can't believe what's happening to Renee Nicole Good... ICE needs to take responsibility for their actions, it's not like protesters were just gonna attack them out of nowhere 🙅‍♂️. They're supposed to be protecting the community, not putting lives at risk. The fact that they're trying to spin this as self-defense is ridiculous 🤥, footage from different angles shows she was just waving and then got shot without any warning 💔. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey spoke up and I agree with him, DHS needs to be honest about what really happened 👊. This incident highlights the need for better training and accountability among law enforcement officers, especially in situations involving immigration raids 🤝.

🤔 So, if the agent says Renee was a riot who posed a threat to their lives, but footage shows her waving at them before getting shot... how can that be true? I need some proof or video angle from a different side of the car to see what really happened. DHS's account is not adding up 🙄. And what about those protesters being sprayed with chemical irritants at point-blank range? Is that part of the "riot" they're talking about too? 🤷‍♂️ The mayor's saying DHS is trying to spin this, but I think we should wait for more info before jumping to conclusions. We need some facts here 📊
