I'm still trying to wrap my head around this VAR decision

. So, basically, if you were watching the game live, you'd think Wirtz was straight offside, but apparently, that five-centimeter tolerance makes all the difference? It's weird, because it feels like they're making one set of rules for their own league and a different set for everyone else.
And can we talk about how inconsistent this is across leagues? Germany, Italy, Spain - they don't have this "thicker lines" tolerance, so if Wirtz had scored in one of those games, it would've been called out as offside. But here we are, with Liverpool getting the win because of... whatever that rule is

I'm not sure I buy into the idea that they're doing this to promote more goals and excitement - if you're going to make one rule for everyone else, it should be applied equally, right?
