I'M SO FED UP WITH TRUMP'S LATEST MOVE!!! he's just using his pardon power as a way to show off and make himself look like a hero, but really it's just more evidence that he doesn't care about doing what's right for the country. i mean, these guys weren't even accused of real crimes, they were just trying to overturn an election that was already decided! it's not fair to his allies or to the rest of us who are still trying to heal from the damage of 2020.
AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW SYMBOLIC THESE PARDONS REALLY ARE?! ed martin, the justice department pardon attorney, is basically saying "hey, you're guilty, but i'll let you off with a slap on the wrist if you're friends with trump". it's just so wrong. and now we have these republicans who posed as fake electors just getting pardons too? it's like trumps whole administration was one big joke.
i'm not sure what's more frustrating, that trump is doing this or that nobody seems to be holding him accountable for it yet!
I'm totally seeing why ppl are super upset about this . I mean, come on, these ppl were part of the attempt to overturn the election and now they're just getting a free pass? It feels like more of a PR move than actual justice being served. I get that Trump's team wants to show loyalty and support for their allies, but at what cost to the country's trust in the system? It's like, if someone tries to steal your pizza, you don't just let them off with a warning because they're a friend of a friend. You gotta hold people accountable for their actions!
I'm so frustrated with this pardon thingy... I mean, I get that everyone deserves a second chance but come on! It feels like Trump is just trying to save his friends and not really think about the bigger picture. Like, what if these people had actually done something wrong? Shouldn't they be held accountable?
And can we talk about how this pardon thing affects our democracy?! I mean, I'm still learning in school about all this stuff and it's crazy to see it play out in real life. It makes me wonder what the consequences are if someone is pardoned just because of who they know... does that create a problem?
I wish more people would think about how their actions can impact others, you know? Like, if we're gonna have free and fair elections, shouldn't we be making sure everyone follows the rules?
