The Republicans' latest Clinton stunt will not work | Arwa Mahdawi

In a transparent attempt to shift the focus away from Donald Trump's dubious connections to convicted felon Jeffrey Epstein, the Republican-led administration has now taken aim at Bill and Hillary Clinton. The strategy seems to be: "Hey, let's distract you with some Clinton-Epstein drama while we drag our feet on releasing all the Epstein files."

It's a classic tactic - pin the blame on someone else, anyone else, in an attempt to deflect attention from their own culpability. But this time around, it won't work.

The Trump administration has been slinging mud at Bill Clinton for months, citing his well-documented ties with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. While those connections are certainly problematic, the Clintons have repeatedly maintained that they cut ties with Epstein in 2005 - before he pleaded guilty to solicitation of a minor in Florida.

However, despite their denials, the Trump administration has continued to release photos of Clinton alongside Epstein, including one from December with the caption "Oh my!" It's hard to imagine what more evidence the Republicans need to justify their crusade against the former president.

The Democrats, however, are refusing to cooperate with the Republican-led House oversight committee's investigation into Epstein's activities. In a scathing statement, they accused the Trump administration of attempting to create a sideshow and accused Comer of being hypocritical in his claims that they should comply with the subpoenas while he drags his feet on releasing all the Epstein files.

The real question here is: what are the Republicans hiding? The answer seems clear - they're trying to distract us from their own role in enabling Epstein's sinister activities. And it won't work.

omg, this is so not gonna work πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜’ they think we're all that gullible?? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ the clintons have been clear about their ties to epstein and he admitted to soliciting minors πŸš«πŸ‘Ž meanwhile trump's admin is trying to spin this like they're doing us a favor by exposing these shady connections πŸ™„πŸ’β€β™€οΈ newsflash: just because you're not in on it doesn't mean you're clean πŸ‘•πŸš« the real scandal here is epstein's empire of exploitation πŸ’ΈπŸš«

I'm so done with these politicians and their games πŸ™„. They think they can just pin the blame on someone else while doing nothing themselves is just laughable. I mean, come on, releasing photos of Bill Clinton with Epstein like that? What's next? A "Where's Waldo?" game to find out what Trump knew about Epstein's activities? πŸ˜‚ The real question here is, what are they really hiding? And honestly, it's pretty clear that the Republicans are trying to deflect attention from their own role in enabling Epstein's dark past. It's just not going to work, and we should all be keeping a close eye on them πŸ‘€.

I'm not buying this latest distraction tactic from the Trump administration πŸ™„. It's all about shifting focus away from their own shady dealings with Epstein. I mean, come on, releasing photos of Clinton alongside Epstein and then trying to spin it as if they're the ones being targeted? Give me a break! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

And can we talk about how hypocritical this whole thing is? The Republicans are all like "Hey, we need to investigate Epstein's activities" while simultaneously holding onto their own secrets. It's a classic case of "let's point fingers at someone else and pretend we're the heroes". Not buying it πŸ˜’.

I think we should be focusing on getting those Epstein files released ASAP instead of playing this game of blame. Our attention should be on justice, not some petty politics πŸ•ŠοΈ. The truth is clear: the Republicans are hiding something, and we need to hold them accountable πŸ’ͺ.

I'm so tired of this game of "let's deflect the blame" πŸ™„. It feels like we're all just being played like puppets on strings. The real question is, what did Trump know about Epstein's activities and why hasn't he released those files? πŸ€” I'm also kinda annoyed that the Democrats aren't pushing back harder against the Republicans' attempts to dig up dirt on Bill Clinton πŸ˜’. It feels like they're just letting Trump get away with this one... again πŸ’”

I'm not buying the whole " Clinton-epstein drama" thing πŸ™„... it's just a clever ploy to divert attention from the fact that the Trump administration is stalling on releasing those Epstein files. I mean, come on, if they're so keen on proving that Bill Clinton had ties with Epstein, why are they still holding out on providing evidence? It's like they're trying to pull a fast one on us πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... and it's not going to fly. The Democrats are right to call them out on their hypocrisy – if the Republicans want to be transparent about Trump's connections to Epstein, then they should start by releasing those files themselves. Anything less is just more evidence of their obstructionism 🚫...

πŸ˜’ This whole scenario reeks of a classic case of diversionary tactics - a desperate attempt by the Trump administration to shift the focus away from their own questionable ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The Democrats, on the other hand, are playing the long game, refusing to cooperate with the House oversight committee's investigation into Epstein's activities. πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ The question remains: what are the Republicans trying to hide? The photos of Bill Clinton alongside Epstein just add fuel to the fire, highlighting the administration's flagrant disregard for due process. πŸ‘€ It's time to put on the brakes and let the truth come to light - the Trump administration needs to stop playing games and start answering some tough questions about their role in enabling Epstein's dark activities. πŸ’”

I mean, come on... πŸ™„ this whole thing feels like a bunch of smoke and mirrors. They think we're just gonna forget about Trump's shady connections with Epstein if we focus on the Clintons? Please. It's all just a distraction from the real issue at hand - what were the Republicans doing while Epstein was free to do his thing? I'm not buying it, guys. The photos they keep releasing are just cherry-picked to make Clinton look bad. And now the Democrats are saying they won't cooperate with the investigation because the Republicans aren't pulling their weight? Yeah right... πŸ€”

And have you seen Comer's face in those Epstein files he's been dragging his feet on releasing? It's like he's hiding something... and I'm not just talking about Clinton's connections to Epstein. There's gotta be more to it than this. This whole thing reeks of a cover-up, if you ask me. 🚫

πŸ€” I'm not buying that the Democrats are being too controlling with this subpoena thingy... I think they're just trying to maintain some dignity and show the Republicans that they can't just bully them into giving up info without a fight πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. And honestly, if the Trump administration is so sure that Clinton did what they say he did, why are they still pushing for him to testify? It seems like more of the same old game - pinning blame on someone else while they're the ones hiding something 🚫.

I'm so done with these politics and how they can drag a family's reputation through the mud πŸ™„. Bill and Hillary Clinton may have made mistakes, but do we really need to be treated like we're guilty by association? πŸ€” I mean, come on, can't we just focus on the real issue here - what was going on with Epstein and how did our administration know about it in the first place?! 🚨

And honestly, I don't think releasing old photos of Bill Clinton with Epstein is gonna get us anywhere πŸ“Έ. It's just a way to keep the conversation off the fact that they might've known more than they're letting on... or maybe they do know and are trying to hide it 😳.

It's like, can we please just have some real answers here instead of being treated like we're guilty until proven innocent?! πŸ™„ My kids would never stand for this kind of bullying in their schoolyards, so why should our politicians be allowed to get away with it?! 😑

OMG, this strategy by the Trump administration is soooo lame πŸ™„πŸ’”. They're trying to deflect attention from their own involvement with Epstein, but we're not buying it πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. I mean, come on, if they really had nothing to hide, why are they releasing those photos of Clinton with Epstein? That's just a smokescreen πŸ”«. And let's be real, the Clintons have been open about their past connections with Epstein, but that doesn't make them complicit in his crimes πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm so tired of these politicians trying to muddy the waters and shift the blame 🌊. We need transparency and accountability from our leaders, not this kind of dirty tricks πŸ€₯. And btw, why is Comer being hypocritical? Shouldn't he be working on releasing those Epstein files instead of playing politics with them? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

This whole thing stinks, but I think we're seeing a pattern here - Republicans trying to distract us from their own wrongdoings πŸ˜’. We can't let them get away with it! 🚫

I'm not surprised by this move, it's like they think we'll forget about Trump's issues with Epstein πŸ€”... I mean, come on, if you're gonna dig up dirt on someone, at least try to be consistent in your accusations, right? πŸ™„ And those photos of Clinton and Epstein? Just more mud being slung around, but honestly, it feels like they're just trying to shift the focus back onto Trump's own problems with Epstein. The thing is, we need answers about what was known (or not known) about Epstein's activities while he was in office πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ...
