think they're trying to bully the MP for speaking out about a major public service company that's on its knees but honestly who do they think they are? £1,400 an hour sounds like a pretty penny even for a hedge fund manager! it just goes to show how out of touch some big companies can be with the people they're supposed to serve 
cat hobbs is right though, this is some serious attempt to silence debate and stifle public interest

come on Thames Water! £1,400 an hour? that's just ridiculous! you're already drowning in debt and now you're trying to slap a bill on Maynard for having the guts to stand up for his constituents? the whole thing reeks of corporate greed. we own it is spot on - this is exactly why the government needs to step in and take control of your operation. special administration, not some fancy lawyer bill! , like what's next? They're trying to make Charlie Maynard pay £1,400 an hour for legal fees as "retaliation" for speaking out about government control... it's just not right
