Spotify’s 3rd price hike in 2.5 years hints at potential new normal

I just got served with a price hike 🤑 - 9% isn't so bad, I guess... but $13 a month for Premium is like asking me if I want fries with that 🍟. Seriously though, I'm all for artists getting paid more, but can't we just make it work without nickel-and-diming users? It's like they say, "you gotta pay to play" - and now we gotta pay more to listen 😂.

🤔 I've been thinking about this price hike thing a lot lately... like, what even is normal anymore? We're living in a world where everything is just kinda... increasing all the time. Our salaries, our rent, our Spotify subscriptions... it's like we're all just trying to keep up with the Joneses. But at what cost, right? I mean, $13 a month for music isn't bad by itself, but when you start to think about it on a bigger scale, it's kinda staggering.

And that whole "benefiting artists" thing... sounds good on paper, but how transparent is Spotify really being about their pricing model? It feels like we're just being kept in the dark. Like, what exactly are these 17%, 10%, and 10% increments adding up to? Is it even fair for students to pay more than the regular premium users?

I guess my point is... sometimes I feel like our whole economy is based on these huge leaps forward that we're all just kinda scrambling to keep up with. But at what cost, you know? And do we ever really think about who's footing the bill for all this? 🤑
