Sixers mailbag: What can Sixers get for the first-round pick acquired for Jared McCain, and how much does it matter?

I mean, come on, fans are already hating on this trade? Like, dude, Jared McCain wasn't exactly lighting it up on the court anyway . And now you're all freaking out over a pick that's probably gonna get traded again in a few months .

But seriously though, if they can flip this pick for some real talent, I'm all for it . It's like, they've gotta try something right? And with Daryl Morey saying he wants to keep Quentin Grimes, that's def a positive sign . But let's be real, Grimes hasn't been doing so hot lately, so who knows if that's even gonna happen .

On the bright side, Paul George is comin' back and we can all breathe a sigh of relief . And I'm sure the front office is already brainstorming ways to make room for him in the budget . Maybe they'll just have to get creative with the contract extensions or something .

Anyway, only time (and a few more trades) will tell if this whole thing turns out to be a success .

The trade that shook the NBA world – Jared McCain for a bunch of draft picks ... I think people are overreacting a bit here. The Sixers didn't need McCain, and now they've got some decent ammo to work with in terms of drafting talent down the line . The thing is, most first-round picks aren't gonna be game-changers – you'll get a solid player or prospect who might develop into something good over time.

The key here is that the Sixers were never really riding high on McCain's shoulders anyway, so I don't think we're losing too much sleep over this trade. What's more important to me is what they do with those draft picks – if they can snag a solid contributor or build towards something big in the future, then that's a win .

And hey, let's not forget about the bigger picture here... Daryl Morey's got some decent moves lined up for free agency, and I think we're gonna see him go all-in on some key pieces this summer . So yeah, there's definitely some hope on the horizon for this team – just gotta ride out a few bumps in the road .

I'm thinking the 76ers are trying too hard to make trades just 'cause they wanna get rid of Jared McCain lol. Like, he wasn't exactly lighting it up for them this season anyway . They should've just stuck with him or found another way to move him without giving away so much. This trade thingy is all about the draft picks now. And honestly, who knows how good that Houston pick is gonna be? Might end up being a total bust if you ask me .

What I do think is cool is De'Anthony Melton's story tho . The Sixers totally killed it with that trade. But for them to pull off another deal like that, they'd need some serious magic .

And oh man, Quentin Grimes is a mess right now . If the Sixers wanna keep him, they're gonna have to make some major adjustments. Otherwise, they could always try to snag someone else in free agency .

Also, can we talk about Paul George for a sec? 25 games down and he's already missing out on crucial practice time . When does his suspension actually end again?
