Sharks’ Ty Dellandrea considered week-to-week with lower body injury

San Jose Sharks Center Ty Dellandrea Placed Week-to-Week with Lower Body Injury

The San Jose Sharks will have to navigate the remainder of their schedule without center Ty Dellandrea, who has been ruled week-to-week due to a lower body injury. Dellandrea suffered the injury in Tuesday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, crashing into the post after being tripped by an opponent.

Dellandrea had established himself as the Sharks' third-line center in recent weeks, boasting 11 points in 41 games this season. He also ranks among the team's top penalty-killing forwards and has a respectable faceoff win percentage of 52.3.

In his absence, Adam Gaudette took Dellandrea's spot in the lineup against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday. Rookie center Michael Misa, who was recently added to the team's roster, did not travel to Los Angeles and is currently without an option.

The Sharks will be relieved to see that several other injured players are expected to return soon. Defensemen Vincent Desharnais and John Klingberg are not expected to miss much more time, while forwards Will Smith and Philipp Kurashev are expected back before the Olympic break begins in early February.

Dellandrea's injury is a significant blow to the Sharks' lineup, but with several other players on the mend, the team will look to stay competitive despite the setback.

man this is bad timing for the sharks Dellandrea was doin some great things lately and now he's out for a bit 🤕 Hopefully his injury isn't too serious so he can get back on the ice ASAP... Adam Gaudette did okay in his spot but you can tell it ain't the same having Dellandrea's skillset. Plus, Misa doesn't even have an option to play yet 😔 guess they'll just have to grind out some more games with this depleted roster

🚨 This injury news is like a mini- election cycle - one minute we're all about Dellandrea's progress, and the next we're dealing with the aftermath 🤯. It's like, what's the Sharks' strategy on this? Do they go for veteran depth or young blood? I mean, Michael Misa hasn't even had a chance to prove himself yet ⏰. And then you've got other injured players coming back - it's like a vote of confidence in their abilities 🗳️. But what about the fans? We're stuck with the same old lineup for now 💔. It's all about the Sharks' organizational leadership - are they making the right calls to keep us competitive despite these setbacks? 🤝

omg what a bummer for the sharks! 🦈😬 ty dellandrea's absence is huge 'cause he was doing pretty well this season 💪 11 points in 41 games? that's like a whole lotta hockey skills 😎 anyway, gotta feel bad for him, hope his injury isn't too serious...

hopefully the other injured players come back soon & help keep the sharks competitive 🤞 💨

Ugh, not another injury 🤕... This season is already so grueling for teams and players. I feel bad for Dellandrea, he's been doing well lately and now this 😔. The Sharks are gonna have to adjust their game plan without him, it's gonna be tough ⚽️. But at least some good news about other injured players coming back soon 🙌. Fingers crossed they can stay competitive despite losing Dellandrea for a bit 💪.

Wow! 🤕💔 San Jose Sharks are gonna miss Dellandrea so much, he was like a glue holding their 3rd line together 💪🏼 Interesting that they're getting some guys back soon, Vincent Desharnais and John Klingberg should be a big help 👍

🤔 so I'm thinking, maybe this Ty Dellandrea injury isn't just an accident... like, what if it was a deliberate try to take him out of commission? 🚨 sharks are already struggling and now they gotta play without their best 3rd line center... that's suspicious. And have you noticed all the other players who got injured too? Vincent Desharnais and John Klingberg are back soon, but Will Smith is still out with no ETA... it feels like some teams might be trying to gain an unfair advantage 🤷‍♂️

ugh, another player going down 🤕 the sharks are literally getting decimated by injuries this season... like what's going on? can't they get a break? Dellandrea was actually starting to come into form too, and now he's just gonna sit out for who knows how long. and meanwhile, gaudette has to step up again 🤦‍♂️ the kid's got potential but is being asked to do way too much already... and where's Misa supposed to come in?

Ugh, not another player going down 🤕... Ty Dellandrea's injury is such a bummer for the Sharks! He was really starting to find his groove and making some big contributions to their lineup. Adam Gaudette did a solid job stepping in, but it's just not the same as having your top players on the ice. Hopefully, he recovers quickly so they can get him back soon 🙏. It's great to hear that some other injured guys are on the mend, though! The Sharks' season is looking up ☀️...

🤔 so i'm not thrilled about dellandrea getting hurt, he was playing pretty well lately and was starting to get some big minutes... but at the same time, it's good to see that some other guys are coming back from injury 🙌 hopefully misa gets his chance soon, he's a nice prospect 🤞

🤦‍♂️ Like, what's new? Another star player gets hurt and we're supposed to be all sad for them 🙄. Ty Dellandrea was already having a solid season, and now he's out for who knows how long. I mean, Adam Gaudette is no slouch or anything... 😒 And yay, Michael Misa didn't get to go on the trip! That's super exciting 🎉. On the bright side, some other injured players are coming back soon, so at least that's a silver lining, right? 💡 The Sharks will just have to "find it in themselves" to stay competitive without Dellandrea... like they're some kind of superhero team or something ⚡️.

ugh this is great news for the sharks 🙄 dellandrea was being kinda overplayed anyway... all the fuss about him getting 11 points in 41 games is pretty meh... i mean what's a few more goals and assists gonna do? 😐 plus gaudette took his spot just fine, no biggie. and let's be real, misa wasn't exactly lighting it up on the farm either 🤷‍♂️

Aww mannnn, this is like the 5th time Dellandrea gets hurt already 🤕... I mean, I know it's hockey and stuff, but can't he just get a break for once? 😂 Still, glad he's not gonna miss too much time with Desharnais and Klingberg coming back soon. Adam Gaudette did okay against the Kings, I guess... hope Misa gets his chance to shine soon! 🤞

awww man, that sucks for Ty Dellandrea 🤕! he was doin so well this season and now he's out for a bit 😔. hopefully, Adam Gaudette can fill in nicely and help the Sharks keep it together till Ty gets back 💪... it's gonna be tough to navigate without him, but they got some other guys comin' back soon, like Vincent Desharnais & John Klingberg 🙌! fingers crossed Dellandrea recovers quick 🤞
