Sevdaliza Unveils Ode to Womanhood on Debut Album 'Heroina'
Sevdaliza's highly anticipated new album, 'Heroina', has finally arrived. A 13-track ode to femininity that delves into the complexities of womanhood and features collaborations with a talented lineup of artists.
In her press statement, Sevdaliza explained that the album was born out of her desire to explore different energies and frequencies while creating music around the world. "The songs on this record carry the same thread that's always been with me - humanity, the resistance of the body and mind, the way women and queer people are still shaped by control and the male gaze," she shared.
However, Sevdaliza notes that this time around, it's a different kind of protest. 'Heroina' is about embracing freedom while acknowledging its limitations. This tension between surrender and resistance serves as the core theme of the album.
The record features a diverse range of collaborations, including tracks like "Alibi" with Pabllo Vittar and Yseult, "Ride or Die, Pt. 2" with Villano Antillano and Tokischa, and "No Me CansarΓ©" with Karol G. Other featured artists include Kenia Os, La Joaqui, and Eartheater.
In a statement celebrating the album's release, Sevdaliza emphasized that her collaborators represent different shades of womanhood - resilience, sensuality, and independence. Together, they form a collective voice that challenges traditional narratives and celebrates the power of femininity in all its forms.
With 'Heroina', Sevdaliza marks her first full-length project since 2020's 'Shabrang', which included tracks like "Oh My God" and "Joanna". Her debut EP, 'Raving Dahlia', was released in 2022.
