Steve Clarke has selected a 25-man squad for Scotland's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, with goalkeeper Scott Bain making his comeback after being out of the team due to injury. Fellow veteran Craig Gordon is not in the squad but will be 43 at the end of the month. Goalie Liam Kelly was also dropped from the starting lineup in favor of Bain.
Clarke downplayed the goalkeeping crisis, saying it's a different situation for goalkeepers compared to outfield players. He has faith that his goalkeepers will be ready to step up when called upon.
The squad also includes striker Lawrence Shankland, who has been instrumental in Hearts' success this season and is now back in the Scotland mix after missing out last time around. Clarke praised Shankland's form, saying he's a "striker who lives on goals" and that he thrives under pressure.

I'm not sure how long Scott Bain's come back stint will last... he was out for ages and now he's back in? 
It's always a worry when you've got multiple 'keepers who are all gonna be needed at some point. 
He was missed last time and I'm stoked to see him up front again. 
That guy's a goal machine - I love how Clarke says he thrives under pressure... that's exactly what we need right now. 
On the other hand, I love that Shankland's getting a second chance in the squad - he's always had potential but never quite delivered for Scotland... Clarke must've seen something different this time around

...I mean, I'm glad Scott Bain's back in the mix but it still feels like a bit of a mess. Can't say I blame Clarke for wanting to give him a chance after being out with an injury though. The squad looks decent enough on paper, Lawrence Shankland's form is definitely worth keeping an eye on 
οΈ...but we all know how competitive the striker market can be. Che Adams might not have gotten the attention he deserves, but I'm sure Clarke's got a plan in place to get him involved. Josh Doig's comeback is good news for the team, now let's just hope they can stay injury-free and make some progress in these World Cup qualifiers
