I just listened to this podcast ep, really made me think about the state of politics today. Saikat Chakrabarti's ideas on expanding social safety nets and addressing climate change are kinda common sense, you know? But what's crazy is that these aren't even considered radical by most people anymore 
. I'm not saying it's easy to get stuff passed in Congress, but shouldn't we be pushing for more than just the bare minimum? As someone who's covered authoritarian governments and oligarchs, it's clear that Chakrabarti is speaking truth when he says there's a full-on authoritarian takeover going on under Trump. We need journalists and citizens to hold people in power accountable, not just shout about it from the sidelines

Saikat Chakrabarti's campaign seems super progressive but what if it's just another example of politicians talking outta both sides of their mouth? I mean, has he really got a plan for addressing climate change that won't just get watered down by special interest groups?

. As someone who follows politics closely, it can be frustrating when those in power seem more interested in maintaining their own power than doing what's right for the country. Do you think it's time for a new generation of leaders to take the reins and shake things up?

. You can't just ignore court orders and start putting MAGA loyalists in charge of everything. That's not how our system works. And press freedom? Forget about it

. I'm all about holding our leaders accountable and making sure they're working for the people, not the other way around 
. And I totally agree with him about Hakeem Jeffries & Chuck Schumer, they need to get back on track and support the people, not just special interests
