Google has expanded its AI-powered photo editing feature, Remix in Google Messages, making it available on even more Android phones and tablets. The new feature uses Gemini, a similar AI model to Google Photos, allowing users to edit photos directly within chats. Edited images can be shared with anyone in the conversation, regardless of their device type.
Remix in Google Messages is essentially Google's Nano Banana photo editing tool, which was previously only available in the Google Photos app. The feature allows users to tweak photos and make adjustments like adding a smile or opening eyes without needing previous references. This new version also uses past photos of labelled friends to personalize edits.
In addition to Remix in Google Messages, Google is enhancing its Scam Detection feature with Pixel VIP notifications on Android phones. Scam Detection now warns users about potential scams via notification on Pixel 6 devices and above, while Notification Summaries are available on the Pixel 9 and up.
Google Maps has also received a new Power Saving Mode, which blacks out the screen to conserve battery life for up to four hours. The feature could potentially work seamlessly with Android Auto, but no official announcement has been made by Google yet.

! i was using it with my pixel 5 and now i can share edited pics with friends on android tablets too! 
that feature is so cool cuz u dont need any references, u can just look at the pic and make changes. i also love the new power saving mode in google maps, thats gonna be a game changer for me on long road trips 
and its nice to see them enhancing their scam detection feature too, safety first!

. Remix in Google Messages is cool and all, but have you seen how much data they're probably tracking now that it uses the same AI model as Google Photos? I mean, can't they just leave us alone with our private chats? And don't even get me started on Scam Detection, like we really need a notification to warn us about scams... who's going to alert us if their own scam detector is fake news?

it's so cool that they're also enhancing scam detection and power saving mode on google maps, those are super useful features for our daily lives 
especially since we're living in an era where our phones are basically the only thing we use anymore. and let's not forget about the seasonal theme pack on pixel 6 - wicked: for good sounds like a vibe
