PSG face an unusual problem: they are not scoring enough goals in Ligue 1 | Luke Entwistle

PSG Struggle to Find the Back of the Net in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain, one of the most valuable teams in the world, are struggling to score enough goals in Ligue 1. Manager Luis Enrique has a complicated relationship with his team's league performances, often finding himself on the back foot.

The issue is not just about PSG's attacking style, but also about the talent imbalance created by their financial resources. The team tends to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities, but they are often unable to capitalize on them. In recent games, PSG have averaged around 72% possession, but their opponents have often found ways to nullify their attacks.

The problem is exacerbated by the fact that several of PSG's key forwards are struggling with injuries. Ousmane Dembélé, who won the Ballon d'Or last season, has just five goals in 12 games this campaign, while Désiré Doué and Kvaratskhelia have also been plagued by fitness issues.

As a result, PSG's reliance on Gonçalo Ramos to score crucial goals is becoming increasingly evident. The Portugal striker has been instrumental in getting the team out of trouble with his late-season efforts, but his lack of form at the start of the season raises concerns about his long-term viability as a first-choice striker.

Enrique acknowledges that Dembélé will be fit for the Champions League game against Bayern Munich this week, but he also recognizes that other players must step up to fill the void. "He is a very important player for us because he is always ready for every match," Enrique said.

However, the lack of firepower up front is not just a problem for PSG's attacking style, it's also a concern for their chances in European competitions. If they can't find a way to score consistently at home, they risk being caught out by teams that are well-organized and disciplined.

Ligue 1 rivals Marseille, Lille, Monaco, and Strasbourg are already making the most of PSG's struggles. The top scorer list is dominated by these teams, with only PSG in the top five. This could be a wake-up call for PSG, who need to find a way to break their goal-drying spell before it's too late.

In other Ligue 1 news, Rennes manager Habib Beye was almost sacked after a 2-1 defeat to Nice last Sunday, but managed to stay in his job with a win over Toulouse. Esteban Lepaul scored a hat-trick for Rennes, who are now looking to make the most of their recent momentum.

The table below shows how the teams are stacking up so far this season:

| Position | Team | Played | Goal Difference | Points |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | PSG | 11 | +12 | 24 |
| 2 | Marseille | 11 | +14 | 22 |
| 3 | Lens | 11 | -7 | 22 |
| 4 | Lille | 11 | -10 | 20 |
| 5 | Monaco | 11 | -6 | 20 |
| ... | ... | ... | ... | ... |

PSG's struggles with scoring goals in Ligue 1 are a cause for concern, but they also highlight the talent and quality of their squad. If they can find a way to break their goal-drying spell, they could go on to make a serious push for the title.

I'm getting so sick of PSG's inability to score goals 🤯🏀. It's like they're always playing with 10 men behind the ball, creating scoring chances but never actually putting them away. And don't even get me started on Dembélé - 5 goals in 12 games is a joke 😂. I know he's had injuries and all that, but come on, Ousmane! Get it together!

And what's with the reliance on Gonçalo Ramos? The guy's only consistent thing right now is scoring important goals at the end of matches 🤦‍♂️. It's not a long-term solution to their attacking woes.

Ligue 1 rivals are just making hay while PSG's struggling, and it's about time someone stepped up to challenge the team for the title 💪🏆

I'm really thinking about this... PSG's struggles to score goals got me wondering if we've become too reliant on individual brilliance in sports 🤔. I mean, Dembélé's Ballon d'Or win last season was an incredible achievement, but can a single player really make up for the entire team's weaknesses? It feels like they're putting all their eggs in one basket, and it's only a matter of time before they crack under pressure 🌪️. And what does this say about the state of Ligue 1, anyway? Is it just a glorified training ground for top European teams to hone their skills? I guess that's a conversation for another day... 💡

I feel like PSG is experiencing some major mid-season blues 🤕 They're dominating possession, but can't seem to find the back of the net. It's not just about Dembélé, though - their whole attacking lineup seems to be struggling with injuries. It's a big concern for their Champions League games and could cost them in the long run ⚽️ Ramos is doing his best to fill the void, but it's clear they need some new recruits 🤔

man, paris saint germain is like struggling to score lol 🤦‍♂️ they're so rich and talented but still cant seem to get goals past opponents... gonçalo ramos is literally carrying them atm ⚽️ and dembélé's injuries are a huge blow they need to sort this out ASAP or else they'll miss out on the ligue 1 title 🏆

PSG is having a weird season 🤔. They're dominating possession but can't seem to finish chances 💥. Their forwards are all injured and it's like they're stuck in neutral ⛔️. I mean, Ousmane Dembélé won the Ballon d'Or last year, you'd think he'd be scoring 20+ goals by now 🤷‍♂️.

On the bright side, their average possession time is at 72% 💪. That's a lot of pressure on their opponents 😬. But Gonçalo Ramos has been a lifeline for them, scoring crucial goals when it counts 🔥.

Ligue 1 rivals are making the most of PSG's struggles 🤣. Marseille, Lille, and Monaco are all pushing hard for points. It'll be interesting to see if PSG can break out of their goal-drying spell before it's too late ⏰.

Here's a fun fact: Did you know that PSG's average attendance is over 48,000 fans per game? 🤯 That's crazy! And their total revenue is over €1.2 billion 💸. Talk about a big budget advantage 😎.

The stats don't lie though... 😅. If they can sort out their goal-scoring issues, they could make a serious push for the title 🔝. But until then, it's going to be an interesting ride 🎢.

Here's a graph showing PSG's goals scored per game this season:

```
Goals Scored per Game:
PSG: 1.45
Marseille: 2.10
Lille: 1.90
Monaco: 1.70
Lens: 1.50
Rennes: 2.20
...
```

Noticing a pattern? 😏

man i feel bad for psg fans right now 🤕 their team is so talented but struggling to score goals and its not just about enrique as the manager, its also the injuries that are affecting their key players like dembélé 💔 and doué 🤕 gonçalo ramos is doing his thing but can't carry them on his own ⚽️ still gotta be confident in psg's squad they've got so much talent and experience. hope they find a way to break this goal drought soon 😅

psg is getting roasted left and right this season lol 🤣 their financial power can't be ignored but it's like they're stuck in neutral. dembélé's injury woes are no joke and gonçalo ramos isn't even consistent, i mean he's a solid sub but not the savior they need atm 😴 maybe they should try playing with a different formation or something?

I think it's crazy how much pressure PSG is putting on that one guy Gonçalo Ramos! 🤯 They need to get more players scoring goals or else they'll be stuck in this rut forever 😬. And with all these injuries, it's like they're playing with a team of paperweights ⚖️. I hope Enrique gets some fresh blood in there and shakes things up before it's too late 💥.

PSG is looking super struggling right now 🤕💔 PSG's attack has been a total letdown this season 😐 they're dominating possession but just can't seem to find the back of the net 🏃‍♂️ it's not all on the forwards though, the team needs to come together and support each other more 👫🤝

Ramos is looking like the only one who can save PSG right now 😩 he's been doing some amazing work at the end of games 🕰️ but can they sustain this form for 90 minutes straight ⏱️? The Champions League game against Bayern Munich could be make or break for PSG 💥

The good news is that PSG have a talented squad with so many stars, it's just a matter of them finding the right combination 🔍🔑 and clicking into place 🎯💪

This season has been all about the midfield battles ⚽️ but PSG need to start putting in some goals ⚽️ Ligue 1 rivals are making the most of their struggles 🤯 let's see if PSG can turn it around 🔜

omg i cant believe psg is struggling so much with scoring goals 🤯👀 they have all the resources but still cant seem to capitalize on their attacks 🤑 its not just about dembélé tho, ramos is also getting a lot of pressure from fans 💪 maybe enrique can find a way to balance the team's playing style? 🔴⚫️ the ligue 1 table is looking super competitive this season 😅 marseille and lille are already making the most of psg's struggles 🤝

idk why ppl r surprised PSG r having trouble scoring goals 🤷‍♂️ I mean, its not like dey r playing with kids or somethin'! but seriously, it is a problem. dembélé's injury probs r a big deal, and gonçalo ramos cant carry the team on his back forever 🤯 they need to sort out their frontline ASAP or else dey might as well be playing 4-4-2 all season 😅
