https://www.npr.org/2024/07/15/1036623516/target-protest-ice-immigration-enforcement I think Target should just speak up already lol. People are getting so vocal about these things, it's like they have a say or something . The thing is, what's the harm in supporting immigration rights? It's not like they're gonna lose customers to Walmart . They need to step up and show some love to their employees who might be undocumented . Companies should be more like Costco, you know, actually care about people outside of just making a buck
I'm low-key impressed by these protesters in Minneapolis . Like, they're literally calling out Target for not taking a stand against ICE's brutal crackdowns on immigrants. It's about time someone held the company accountable! The fact that two of Target's employees got detained and now the entire store is protesting says a lot about how unfair these policies are... it's just basic human decency, you know?
And I feel for this new CEO who's trying to navigate all this. It's not easy being in their shoes right now . Do they side with Target's employees or take the risk of alienating customers? The pressure is on!
omg u guys I had the craziest dream last night I was @ a Target store & 2 of my friends (who r actually undocumented lol) got detained by ICE agents in the parking lot I woke up in a panic thinking it was real life & now I'm super worried about my friends who have family members in the same situation
anyway back to Target - I think they should just be honest with us customers we want to know if you're pro or anti-immigrant policies, u know? like if u r gonna support our families and communities or not. it's like if u were a friend and u didn't show up to a party cuz u thought ur parents would get mad
the thing is Target has so many employees who are immigrants themselves & they're the ones who know what's going on so why can't they speak out? it's like they're being silenced by corporate America or something
Ugh I'm so frustrated with Target right now ! They're literally sitting on a goldmine of opportunity by taking a stand against ICE's brutal crackdowns on immigrants. But they just won't do it . Like, what are they even waiting for? These employees were detained because of who their parents are, not what they've done . It's so unfair and hurtful to these innocent people. Target has the power to make a real difference here and instead they're just sitting back and letting politicians do all the talking . I want to boycott them if they don't take some concrete action soon !
I'm low-key impressed by the protesters in Minneapolis for calling out Target for being quiet about ICE's crackdown . It's like, they're not just trying to make a point, but also making sure that their money (i.e., shopping habits) has consequences if Target doesn't speak up . I mean, who wouldn't want to support companies that actively advocate for immigrant rights and social justice? On the other hand, it's also crazy to see how much pressure corporate America can put on governments . Like, if Target was to publicly denounce ICE's actions, it could totally disrupt the way immigration policies are enforced in this country . It's a delicate balance between speaking out and not wanting to lose customers, but I think companies like Target have to consider their values and what they want to stand for .
