Philadelphia Art Museum Offers 'Dreamworld' Pay What You Wish Nights Ahead of Exhibition Closure
In a move to make art more accessible, the Philadelphia Art Museum is introducing "Pay What You Wish" nights for its highly anticipated exhibition, "Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100." The program, which offers flexible admission after 5 pm on select Friday evenings, will be available for the final three weeks of the show's run.
Starting January 30, February 6, and February 13, visitors can attend the museum's evening hours with no fixed ticket price. This unique offering is part of the museum's long-standing Pay What You Wish program, which has been a staple in Philadelphia's cultural scene for years.
To complement the exhibition, each "Pay What You Wish" night will feature live music from local DJ yōsukeDj, light bites, and a surreal-themed cocktail. The atmosphere will be akin to the museum's popular Friday Nights events, with limited capacity and an 8:15 pm last entry recommended.
The February 6th event will also include a special performance by the Philadelphia Ballet, exploring themes of physical and emotional connection through their short work "Connection." On February 13th, which coincides with the museum's Black History Month celebration, attendees can expect live music, pop-up art experiences, and community partners on site.
The exhibition itself is a rare opportunity to explore the evolution of surrealism over more than a century. With national attention and only its US stop in Philadelphia, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for visitors.
