Sinner storms into final with crushing win over Zverev, sets up title showdown with Auger-Aliassime.
Jannik Sinner routed a weary-looking Alexander Zverev 6-0, 6-1 in under an hour to secure his place in the Paris Masters final. The victory marked Sinner's fourth straight triumph over the German, and he leads their career head-to-head 5-4.
Sinner's performance was nothing short of dominant, as he took a commanding lead early on with five break points, converting two of them to build a 5-0 advantage after just 25 minutes. He served out the first set, winning an impressive 90 per cent of his first-serve points compared to Zverev's meager 47 per cent.
The second set saw Sinner break Zverev for a 2-1 lead before the German looked visibly drained and stood with his hands on his knees. Despite struggling physically, Zverev had shown incredible resilience by coming back from two match points down in his quarter-final victory over Daniil Medvedev just a day earlier.
Sinner acknowledged that Zverev was not at full capacity, saying, "When you drop the physicality like he did, you cannot find the full power on serve... He was struggling physically. He won an incredible match yesterday, two match points down⦠Making the final in Vienna, coming here and making the semis again, it's an incredible run, but we all hope that he gets better and fit for Turin."
Sinner will now face Felix Auger-Aliassime in Sunday's title showdown, with Sinner aiming to reclaim his world No 1 ranking. The victory marks Sinner's fifth title of the year and 23rd of his career, while Auger-Aliassime seeks his fourth of the season and ninth overall.
