I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing
. So, Robert Jenrick is basically switching teams from the Tories to Reform UK? I mean, he's been pretty vocal about his views on Brexit and immigration, but now it feels like he's just looking for a way out of a difficult spot
.
Anna Turley's call him out as a "shameless chancer" is fair imo. He did get sacked by Kemi Badenoch after allegedly plotting against her, so you can't say his reasons for defecting to Reform UK aren't self-serving
.
It's also interesting that Reform UK is welcoming him with open arms. Maybe they think he can bring some much-needed attention and credibility to their party? Or maybe they're just trying to score a PR win by having a high-profile defector join their ranks
.
Anyway, it's definitely got everyone talking and raises questions about the future of the right wing in British politics. I'm curious to see how this all plays out
