Ugh, midair crashs are soooo not cool I mean, can't we just keep our skies safe? The fact that the crew didn't even bother to check their separation from the plane is literally crazy . And now they're saying there's no single "smoking gun" evidence? Like, what does that even mean?! Can't we just find someone responsible and hold them accountable?! It's not like this is a complicated issue... the NTSB needs to get it together and come up with some real safety solutions ASAP!
OMG, I'm so confused ... Like, I know the NTSB found out that the helicopter crew messed up big time and didn't keep a safe distance from the plane, but at the same time, isn't it also possible that the passenger jet was just doing its job and following all the rules? I mean, what if the helicopter pilot was really in a rush and wasn't paying attention to his surroundings? ... But then again, maybe the crew's mistake is way more obvious than we think? ... Ugh, my head hurts just thinking about it...
I mean, what's new? Another major aviation disaster in the States ๏ธ. Can't believe it's taken a full year to get an investigation done already... . I'm sure it'll be super detailed and not a complete mess of bureaucratic red tape at all . It'd be awesome if we got some tangible solutions from the report, but let's not hold our breath . After all, the last time we had a major accident, the government was like "sorry guys" and then promptly did nothing about it . Fingers crossed this one brings actual change .
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how a midair collision can happen due to a simple mistake like not maintaining visual separation... it's just heartbreaking thinking about the families of those 67 people who lost their loved ones . The fact that there might not be a single "smoking gun" evidence is frustrating, but I guess that's what happens when you're dealing with complex systems . What I do hope is that this investigation leads to real, tangible changes in aviation safety procedures โ those recommendations better come with some concrete action from the government !
