
This whole facial recognition thing is getting outta hand

. Like, I get it, crime prevention is a big deal, but do we really need to be scanned like sardines every time we go shopping?

. And what about the racial biases in those algorithms? That's just not cool

. I mean, Ben Zhao's point about using video cameras instead is spot on

. It's all about finding ways to balance security with our right to privacy, you know?
And can we talk about how Wegmans and all these other retailers are just jumping on the bandwagon without thinking through the consequences

? I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but at least we need some guidelines and regulations in place before this tech gets any more widespread

. And those signs that NYC required businesses to post? Yeah, good start, but enforcement is key

I feel like we're gonna see more of these kinds of laws coming down the pipeline, especially with all the concerns around facial recognition and biometric data

. We need some serious protection for our consumer rights here
