NFL star Martellus Bennett debuts his 'Hey A.J.!' series inspired by his daughter

Martellus Bennett, a former NFL player and Super Bowl champion from Houston, has brought his creative energy to Disney Jr. with the debut of his new animated series "Hey A.J!." The show is inspired by Bennett's daughter Austyn Jett, or A.J., and his own writing experience.

As Bennett puts it, bringing back ideas born in this city and with these people is an awesome thing for him. His imaginative journey has manifested into the whimsical series that not only executive produced but also lends its voice to as the dad, Marty - like the real-life version of Bennett.

The animated show follows the relationship between Bennett and his daughter Austyn Jett and was inspired by the books he wrote about her. In a recent screening at River Oaks Theatre in Houston, Bennett's family, including his wife Siggy, attended along with fans from groups like CoolxDad and Boys & Girls Club.

Parents praised the show saying that it was "engaging" and had them all "hooked." The occasion was indeed a family affair with Bennett's brother Michael, their parents, and even the young actress who voices A.J., Amari McCoy.

Bennett wants everyone to check out the show not only for entertainment but also as inspiration to get out there and play. And with its release now streaming on Disney+ and additional episodes set to debut later this year, that's exactly what audiences can look forward to.

omg u gotta watch hey aj!!! 🀩 it's so wholesome! martellus bennett is literally the sweetest dad ever for writing a show about his own daughter Austyn Jett and now it's out on disney+ u should totes check it out with ur fave fam members, trust me they'll be hooked from the start like my fam at the screening lol

I think its awesome that Martellus Bennett is sharing his daughter Austyn Jett's story through animation! I mean, I got kids too, and it feels weird watching TV shows about other people's families when you're the one dealing with the messy stuff at home. But this seems different - like its a love letter to his kid and their adventures together. Its also cool that he's making something for families to enjoy together! I'm gonna check out this show with my own kids, maybe even get some ideas for our own family fun time 😊

I'm so stoked to see Martellus Bennett using his talents to create something for kids 🀩. As a parent myself, I know how hard it is to find shows that are both fun and relatable for the little ones. It's awesome that he's drawing from real life and experiences with his daughter Austyn Jett - I'm sure she's super proud of her dad! 😊 The fact that he's involved in every step of the process, from writing to voicing the lead character, is just genius πŸ€“. Can't wait to binge-watch this with my own kiddo!

I love how Martellus Bennett is using his platform to share a piece of himself and his daughter through "Hey A.J.!". The animation style looks super cute 🐰, and I'm excited to see how the show tackles real-life topics like parenting and relationships in a way that's relatable for both kids and adults. As someone who's always on the lookout for shows with great storytelling and character development, I think this series has a lot of potential πŸ’‘. Plus, it's awesome that Bennett is using his platform to promote playtime and getting out there - as someone who loves layout and structure, I'm all about finding ways to make learning fun! 🎨

So another celeb trying to make it big in kids' TV πŸ™„. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a cartoon about their kid's life 10 years from now? 🀣 But hey, Martellus Bennett seems like a cool dude and his show does look pretty cute. Guess you'll just have to wait and see if it's actually "engaging" or if we're all just stuck in some Disney-induced coma 😴. On the bright side, at least he's bringing back ideas from his hometown, so that's a good thing...or is it? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I've been watching a lot of cartoons lately πŸ“Ί, and you know what got me thinking? How our childhood experiences shape us into the people we are today... or should I say, how they shape us into the creators we become in adulthood? Martellus Bennett's new show "Hey A.J!" is more than just an animated series; it's a love letter to his daughter and a reflection of his own journey as a writer. And that's what got me curious – are our stories, whether they're inspired by personal experiences or creative endeavors, something we should be sharing with the world? Or do we keep them locked away, like the magic happens only when we share it with others πŸ€”

Martellus Bennett's new show "Hey A.J!" is literally bringing so much joy to the city, especially with its Houston roots 🌞. It's awesome that he's using his platform to inspire kids and families to get out there and be active, just like the real-life Austyn Jett πŸ‘§. And let's be real, who wouldn't want to watch a show with a dad as cool as Marty Bennett? 😎 I'm definitely checking it out ASAP, thanks for spreading the word! πŸ‘

I'm lovin' it when creators tap into their personal experiences and share 'em with the world! Martellus Bennett is killin' it with "Hey A.J.!", and I'm all about that wholesome vibe 🀩. It's awesome he's executin' produced his own show and lendin' his voice to the dad role – he's really invested in bringin' this story to life. The fact that parents are sayin' they're hooked is music to my ears! It's great to see Bennett spreadin' a message about gettin' out there and playin', too. I'm lookin' forward to streamin' it on Disney+ and seein' more of Marty's adventures with A.J.! πŸ‘
