Netflix will revamp its mobile UI this year

Netflix Unveils Plans to Overhaul Mobile Interface Later This Year, a Major Revamp in the Works.

In an earnings call on Tuesday, Netflix Co-CEO Greg Peters announced that the company is working on a new mobile user interface (UI) set to roll out later this year. The revamped UI aims to better serve Netflix's expanding business over the next decade.

Peters stated that the new mobile UI will provide a foundation for continued iteration and improvement of the platform, allowing the company to test and evolve its offerings more effectively.

Among other updates, Peters discussed vertical video content on the platform. While it may not be a top priority at present, Netflix is already experimenting with vertical video feeds featuring clips from TV shows and movies in its mobile app. The idea is that similar clips from podcasts - increasingly important for the company - might also appear in these feeds.

As reported by Peters, the revamped UI will provide a "more flexible canvas" to adapt to changing user behavior and emerging trends, much like the recent revamp of its TV interface which showcased a prominent banner recommending something to watch on the home screen.

omg u guys i cant wait for netflix to overhaul their mobile interface lol its been ages since they updated it. i feel like the current ui is so clunky πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i hope they add some new features that make it easier to navigate through shows and movies. its also cool to hear about vertical video content on the platform i love watching clips from my fave podcasts while bingeing on netflix πŸ“ΊπŸ‘

omg, I'm not getting my hopes up about this new mobile interface 😐 I mean, we've seen Netflix revamp their UI so many times already... it's always "new and improved" πŸ€” but honestly, what makes you think they can't just mess it up again? πŸ™„ They're trying to compete with TikTok and other social media platforms on the go, which is pretty ambitious. Have we seen any actual user testing results or feedback from actual customers? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

omg just heard about this 🀯 so i'm loving the idea of a major overhaul for netflix mobile interface! i mean who doesn't get frustrated with the current layout, it's been the same for ages 😩 anyway i think vertical video content is a cool addition... have you guys seen those instagram reels where they show clips from shows and movies? πŸ“Ή that's exactly what i'm talking about! and yeah the new mobile ui sounds like it's gonna be super user-friendly, can't wait to try it out when it drops later this year πŸ’»

omg can u believe they're revamping their mobile interface again 🀯 like i'm still trying to figure out how to use their app without getting lost in an endless sea of "what's this button doooo?" πŸ˜‚ anyway, if it means more podcasts in my feeds, i'm HERE. FOR. IT πŸ’β€β™€οΈ vertical video content sounds like a win-win for both me and Netflix πŸŽ‰

I'm so done with Netflix's mobile interface, tbh 🀯. I mean, have you tried watching a show or movie on the go lately? Forget about it! The current UI is like navigating a maze, and it always takes me forever to find what I want to watch 😩. And don't even get me started on the discovery feed - it's always shoving weird stuff in my face πŸ™„. I'm all for innovation and trying new things, but can't they just fix this mobile interface already?! πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ It's like they're taking all the good stuff from the TV interface and not translating it to the mobile app πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And now they're talking about vertical video? Like, I'm all for it in theory, but have you tried watching a YouTube vid on your phone?! It's like, who has that much screen space, lol πŸ˜‚. Anyway, I hope this new revamp happens ASAP - my sanity depends on it πŸ’”.

omg, can u believe this?! they're finally gonna overhaul their mobile app πŸ“±πŸ’»! i mean, it's about time! who hasn't gotten frustrated with the cluttered interface and all the unnecessary ads? i'm hyped for the new features, especially vertical video content - i've been seeing those vids on tiktok and they're actually kinda cool 😎. and the fact that they're experimenting with podcast clips is a great idea, imo! podcasts are getting so popular now πŸ“». can't wait to see how this all plays out... fingers crossed it'll make our mobile viewing experience way better πŸ‘

πŸ€” so they're finally gonna update their mobile app lol i mean it's been a while since they changed anything. this new ui is supposed to make it more flexible and adaptable, which sounds cool i guess. but have you tried using the mobile app lately? it feels like they just copied stuff from the tv interface πŸ“Ί anyway, vertical video on podcasts is an interesting idea, not sure if it'll catch on. maybe they're trying to stay relevant in a world where tiktok and instagram are killing it πŸ“±

πŸ€” so they're gonna change it again... i mean i get it, netflix is all about evolution right? but seriously though, have you seen their app lately? it's like they're trying to make it more confusing not less πŸ˜‚. vertical video content is cool and all, but what about all the times i'm scrolling through my feed and my phone autocorrects everything so its hard to read the titles πŸ“±πŸ’». anyway, fingers crossed they get it right this time πŸ‘

πŸ˜… gotta feel for netflix, they're always innovating right? so yeah, this new mobile ui sounds promising! i mean, who doesn't love a good ui refresh, especially when it comes to streaming services. πŸ“Ί vertical video content is pretty cool too - i can see how that would be a great way to promote podcasts πŸŽ™οΈ. and i'm all for them testing out new things on their platform before rolling it out to the masses. πŸ€” i just hope they don't mess up the layout, lol, we've all been there with those clunky mobile interfaces πŸ˜‚

I'm low-key excited about Netflix's mobile UI overhaul πŸ€”πŸ“±! I mean, have you tried navigating their app lately? It can be super clunky at times. A revamped design will definitely make my life easier while binge-watching my fave shows 🍿😴. I love how they're thinking ahead and trying to keep up with user behavior - it's all about creating a seamless viewing experience, right? And the idea of vertical video clips from podcasts is genius! It's like Netflix is finally catching on to the TikTok vibe πŸ˜‚. Can't wait to see what else they come up with πŸ’‘.
