A commuter rail train struck a minivan stuck on the tracks in Belmont early Monday morning, leaving two people with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred when the driver's attention was diverted by another car cutting them off.

The MBTA Transit Police said that their officers were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving a report of the collision. Both victims had to be extricated from the minivan before being transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening.

A follow-up investigation is set to be conducted by the transit police department. The incident highlights the importance of staying alert and focused while driving or riding in a vehicle.
 
🚨😬 I'm so relieved those two people aren't seriously hurt after that crazy accident on the tracks! Can you imagine being stuck on the tracks and then having a train come barreling down on you? 🚨 Ugh, that's so crazy! I'm just glad no one was killed. Two serious injuries are bad enough, though. You'd think with all these new safety features on cars and trains, we'd be able to avoid stuff like this. Anyway, the fact that the train driver got distracted by some guy cutting them off is wild. Like, how hard is it to keep an eye on the road? I know it's easy to get caught up in driving, but come on! 😬 just had that thought crossing the road in MA... can't even imagine what it's like for drivers on rush hour to have someone suddenly cutting them off! 🚗💥 and then you got trains & buses traveling at high speeds with people stuck on tracks?! crazy 😲 gotta keep an eye out for each other, whether we're driving or riding the rails 👍
 
omg u guys i was literally sittin on this same train like 2 days ago & it hit another car on the tracks btw my sister just got into a bad accident last year & she's still dealin with PTSD so yeah i'm super grateful that no one is lifeless lol but seriously can we talk about how crazy our lives are sometimes i was runnin late for work this mornin & i almost missed my stop by like 1 min ugh traffic in boston is literally the WORST 🤯😩
 
Ugh, this is just another day where someone's carelessness almost costs lives 🤦‍♂️. Like, what even is the point of having rail safety protocols if you're gonna ignore the road rules too? 🚗🚫 I mean, can't people just stay focused for one second? The thought of those two people being stuck under that minivan for God knows how long is terrifying 😓.

And now they get to deal with all the trauma and whatnot from a train colliding with a car. It's like, hello, you're already dealing with life or death situations – can't we just give you some peace? 🙏 The MBTA Transit Police did show up ASAP though, so I guess that's something 😊.

It's also kinda interesting how this incident is going to lead to more investigation and awareness about road safety. Maybe people will start taking it seriously for once 💡.

Can't even drive down the street without worrying about someone cutting you off... i swear it's like everyone's in such a rush to get somewhere. and then when you think about it, there are trains running by with people inside who have to be super careful not to get hit too... it's just one big mess 🚂💨

man this is crazy 🤯 just think about how quickly things can go wrong when you're distracted behind the wheel or even just sitting in your car... the minivan being stuck on the tracks was already a huge risk, but add the driver's divided attention and it's like the universe was waiting for an accident to happen 😬 what's crazy is that it could've been way worse too - thankfully those two people are going to be alright. hopefully this incident can serve as a wake-up call for all of us to stay more alert on the roads 🚗💡
 
omg this is so crazy! 🤯 i was on the train yesterday and it was like my heart just stopped when i heard that car cut off the driver, ugh! but thank god no one died lol. seriously though, accidents happen but it's super important to stay vigilant while driving or riding in a vehicle. like, check your blind spots and keep an eye on the road, you never know what might happen. anyway, hope those two people from the minivan recover soon 🤞
 
I'm not sure if it's a good thing that the train came to a stop quickly after hitting the minivan... I mean, maybe it should've kept going? It's not like anyone's gonna get hurt from just being hit by a train. But at the same time, we're all lucky that the people inside the minivan were able to get out safely... unless they got seriously injured, which is more likely because trains are super heavy and can crush you if you don't move fast enough? 🚂💥

And honestly, who's really surprised by this whole thing? I mean, it's not like anyone's paying attention on the road anymore. We're all too busy staring at our phones to notice what's happening around us... or maybe that's just me being paranoid? 🤔 Either way, it's a good reminder to stay alert and stuff, but also, trains are just so cool, I wish they'd just keep going by now! 😎

It's so reckless and irresponsible! The train was already moving and then BAM, another car cuts them off... it's like they want to be part of a bad movie or something 😂. Ugh man, like totally terrible that this happened 🤯! Can't believe some driver would just cut another person off and cause such chaos. And poor guy who was driving the minivan, stuck on the tracks and all... it's like, what if someone else had been in the way? And I'm all for safety first, but come on, can't we find a way to avoid these kinds of accidents altogether? Like, can't we just slow down and pay attention when we're on the roads? It's not like it's gonna kill us or anything... unless, you know, you're in the minivan 🚗💨.

🚨😕 just saw that train accident on the news... crazy how quickly things can go wrong. driver of that minivan was literally distracted for like 2 seconds and it's a miracle nobody is worse off.

I mean, we all know accidents happen but come on! It's one thing to be rushing to work or whatever but staying alert is key. And honestly, I think this incident could be a wake-up call for some of us... we're always glued to our screens, it's like we forget how to pay attention in the real world.

anyway, glad to hear those two people are okay... non-life threatening injuries and all that. still, can't help but feel a bit shaken by the whole thing 😬
