Mary Berry, and now Prue Leith. Retiring in your 80s is the new 60s | Simon Jenkins

I'm glad to see Prue Leith's retirement being celebrated as a shift in societal attitudes... 🙌 But let's not forget that she's still active and thriving at 80, it's her own personal goals and health that led to her decision 😊. We shouldn't expect everyone to continue working till they're 100, that's just unrealistic. It's great that Mary Berry is also doing well in her 80s, but we should be focusing on individual circumstances rather than making assumptions about someone's 'usefulness' based on their age 🤔. The issue is not the age itself, but whether the person can still contribute and participate in society 💪. Let's focus on creating a more inclusive culture that values experience, maturity, and judgment, regardless of age 👍.

OMG yaaas finally someone says it! 🙌 I mean Prue Leith is an amazing baker and she's still slaying it at 80+ 💁‍♀️🍰. It's so true that we need to rethink our attitudes towards aging, we're living longer and healthier than ever, why not use that energy for good? 🤩 The idea of arbitrary retirement ages just doesn't make sense anymore, everyone should be able to decide when they want to hang up their baking shoes (or whatever it is they do 😉). And let's be real, experience and maturity are super valuable assets, don't @ me! 😂
