this is so heartbreaking to read about those poor dogs being subjected to painful experiments... 15 million dollars down the drain for what? 
and it's not even like it's helping us humans, just some human-relevant research that could've been done without harming innocent animals 
. I'm with Brock and Carley all the way - if we want to move forward as a society, shouldn't we be prioritizing compassion over cruelty? 
. It's crazy to think that some people still don't get it, like those who say animal testing is necessary for human health... give me a break! 
I mean, have you seen all the cool alternatives they're working on now? 3D organoids and whatnot?

I'm all for banning painful experiments on dogs at taxpayer-funded institutions. It's about time we acknowledge the emotional toll these tests take on our furry friends and their human families. I mean, who needs to see a dog's chest cavity opened or devices implanted in their heart? Not me! 
It's not like we're talking about some ancient research method here; it's modern stuff that's supposed to help us humans.
I know some people say we're moving away from dog experiments, but what if that's just a PR stunt?

Wright and Johnston are on the right track by framing this as a matter of basic respect for dogs. Who wouldn't want their pets treated like family? and then finding out they're being used for some kind of sick experiment without your consent? it's just not right 
. i think it's awesome that brock wright and carley johnston are using their platform to bring attention to this issue, especially since they've seen firsthand the love and care that goes into taking care of dogs in michigan homes . queenie's law is a step in the right direction, but i hope lawmakers will also consider finding alternative methods for research that don't involve causing pain or distress
