omg I'm low-key excited for this The Barbican needs a major refresh but it's cool that they're going for a more thoughtful approach this time around. I mean, who wants to just slap some new stickers on an old gorilla and call it a day? A "fabric first" overhaul sounds like the perfect way to breathe new life into this iconic building. The combination of modern sustainability practices and nods to its original brutalist charm will be SO interesting to see. Fingers crossed that they can balance progress with preservation, though – we don't want the Barbican's unique character to get lost in the shuffle
