According to police, Underwood was crossing the street when a black Ford Explorer SUV hit her. She was then struck again by a black and gray sedan as she lay in the street. Underwood suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers who fled the scene have not been identified yet.
Underwood's career on Nickelodeon spanned over seven years, including appearances on shows such as "Little Bill" and "Hairspray". She voiced Fuschia Glover in "Little Bill", which aired from 1999 to 2004, and played Little Inez in the national tour of "Hairspray".
