Kehlani teases Clipse collaboration on her upcoming album, marking the latest development in a star-studded lineup of collaborations.
The Oakland singer posted a photo from a Grammy week party featuring Pusha T and Malice, captioning it "Track 2. @Clipse". While some were surprised to see Kehlani team up with the Virginia duo, fans are excited about the potential for new music.
Kehlani has been working closely with Pharrell Williams, who is also a longtime collaborator of Clipse's. In an interview with Inked Mag, she teased that her upcoming album will have more collaborations than previous projects, and all of them will be people she respects.
"I have way more collaborations than I've probably ever had, and they're all people that I really, really respect," Kehlani said. "And I think the coolest thing about it is, there's no features that feel like, 'Oh, a label threw this together,' or 'Two people were popping right now, so we just threw it together.' It was all super organic."
The album is shaping up to be a special one, with R&B legends Brandy and Usher already confirmed as guests. Kehlani's latest single "Folded" earned her a top 10 Billboard Hot 100 spot and nominations for best R&B song and best R&B performance at the Grammys.
Clipse has been nominated for five Grammy Awards behind their comeback album Let God Sort Em Out, which features Pharrell Williams' production.
