If Bill Belichick has to wait a year so 49ers’ Roger Craig makes the Hall of Fame, that’s a no-brainer

Belichick's Hall of Fame Snub Won't Shake Me: I'm Fine with Waiting a Year for Roger Craig.

When news broke that Bill Belichick, the most decorated coach in NFL history, was being snubbed from the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first ballot, my initial reaction was puzzlement and amazement. But after some reflection, I've come to accept this development – at least for now.

It's hard not to feel that something is amiss when a coach who has won six Super Bowls and two as an assistant gets left out in the cold, pitted against actual players like Roger Craig. The former San Francisco 49ers running back, who was an 11-year veteran of the team, may have made it into the Hall of Fame this year if he hadn't been competing with Belichick.

The system is clearly flawed when it separates senior players from coaches and contributors. It raises questions about fairness, transparency, and the value we place on these individuals' contributions to our sport.

While I'm not condoning or defending the way things have played out, I do think that Roger Craig's inclusion in the Hall of Fame this year sends a mixed message. As the NFL continues to evolve, it may be worth re-examining its voting system and considering more transparent processes for selecting senior candidates like Belichick.

It's worth noting that few coaches have demonstrated a deeper understanding of NFL history than Belichick. He knows the game inside out, having spent years studying and learning from the greatest coaches in the league. His occasionally brusque treatment of the media has become a hallmark of his coaching style, but I don't believe it should be a reason for him to be snubbed.

Of course, this isn't about life being unfair or Belichick being wronged at an inhuman level – although I can see why some people might feel that way. It's simply about recognizing that waiting a year before Belichick enters the Hall of Fame won't make me cry myself to sleep at night. If it takes a little longer, so be it.

To those who are suggesting conspiracy theories or pointing fingers at individual voters, I'd say let's not get carried away here. These individuals take their responsibility very seriously, and the process is complex enough without jumping to conclusions.

In the end, this snub might actually serve as a catalyst for change in the Hall of Fame selection process. Who knows? Maybe it'll prompt a renewed focus on transparency, fairness, or even a complete overhaul of the system.

For now, I'm fine with waiting a year to see Belichick join the ranks of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's finest – alongside Roger Craig and Ken Anderson.

I gotta say 🤔, this whole situation got me thinking... The NFL's voting system is just so weird 🤯. They're gonna leave out one of the most decorated coaches in history on his first ballot, but a running back like Roger Craig gets in? It don't add up 📊. I mean, Belichick's won six Super Bowls and two as an assistant... what more do you need to prove yourself? 🤷‍♂️ And yeah, the system is flawed 👎, it raises questions about fairness and transparency.

But here's the thing: this snub might actually be a good thing 😊. If it makes people sit up and take notice, maybe they'll re-examine their voting process and make some changes 📝. I'm not saying Belichick's being snubbed unfairly or anything 🙅‍♂️, but it's just weird to me.

And let's be real, few coaches know the game like Bill Belichick 😊. He's a mastermind 💡, and his occasionally rough treatment of the media is just part of who he is 👍. So yeah, maybe I'm not gonna lose sleep over this snub... but at the same time, it'd be cool to see him get in ASAP 🎉.

I think the whole thing is overblown 🤷‍♂️, and we're making too big of a deal about it. I mean, Belichick has had an amazing career, but six Super Bowls doesn't automatically put him in the Hall of Fame, you know? And what's with all this fuss about senior players vs coaches? It's not like they're competing for the same prize 🤑. And let's be real, if Craig didn't show up this year, Belichick would've been snubbed next time around, so it's not like he's being unfairly left out in the cold ❄️.

😐 I get what he's saying about the NFL Hall of Fame voting system being flawed but I don't think it's all Belichick's fault 🤔. He's had an amazing career and six Super Bowls under his belt, that's not something you can just dismiss ⚖️. The fact that Craig gets in over him this year is still weird to me... like what exactly did Craig do that made him more deserving? 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, I do think the Hall of Fame should take another look at their system and make it more transparent, maybe then we can see Belichick get his due 👏.

can't believe the snub 🤷‍♂️ #CoachBelichickDeservesItToo I mean, six Super Bowls is no joke! 👏 11-year vet like @RogerCraig might get in but Belichick's impact on the game goes way beyond that? 😒 The system needs a major overhaul, imo 🚧💪 Can't just separate coaches from players when they've contributed so much to the sport 🤝

idk about this pro football hall of fame thing 🤔. seems like theyre makin it way too hard for ppl who havnt played in the league 2c. belichik won 6 super bowls lol, thats a big deal! but i guess its all good if roger craig gets in there 1st lol 👍

omg i feel u! like bill belichick is literally the ultimate coach ever 🤩 i mean six super bowls under his belt? what more can u ask for?! 🙄 it dont make sense to me how he got snubbed from the hall of fame already, especially compared to roger craig who was just a player lol 🤣 but i guess the system is flawed or watever 😂 maybe belichick will get in next year and we can all celebrate his greatness 💪

I gotta say, I disagree with this guy 🙄. If someone as accomplished as Belichick is being snubbed from the Hall of Fame, something fishy is going on. Six Super Bowls is a lot to brush off like it's nothing. And yeah, the system is flawed, but that's exactly why we need Belichick in the Hall of Fame ASAP! 🚨 The guy knows his stuff, and his coaching record speaks for itself. Not some player who just showed up and played, no matter how long they played.

It's not about life being unfair, it's about recognizing greatness when we see it. And let's be real, Belichick is a legend of the game. Waiting a year to give him his due isn't gonna make me lose any sleep either 😴.

I think this snub is a bit harsh, don't you? 🤔 Bill Belichick has an impressive resume, six Super Bowl wins and all that. He's definitely one of the most decorated coaches in NFL history. It does seem unfair to pit him against actual players like Roger Craig when he's been coaching for decades. Maybe they should just have separate lists or something! 🤷‍♂️ At least it might prompt some change in the system, which is good. Let's see what happens next, I'm not losing any sleep over Belichick not being in the Hall of Fame this year 😴.

🤔 This snub is still a mystery to me 🧐. Six Super Bowl wins under his belt? Not enough for Bill Belichick, it seems 😕. I'm not buying into all the conspiracy theories tho 🙅‍♂️, the system's flaws are real 👀. It's time to re-examine the voting process and make it more transparent ⚡️. Belichick knows his stuff, he's been studying the game for decades 💡. A little patience won't kill me 😊. Maybe this snub will prompt some positive change 🤞...

The NFL's voting system is so outdated 🤦‍♂️ it can't even get some coaches right. Six Super Bowls? Two as an assistant? That's a resume that should be on a pedestal, not on the shelf waiting to be recognized. And what's with separating senior players from coaches and contributors? It's like they're speaking different languages 🤔. I'm all for transparency and fairness in the selection process, but this feels like more of the same old thing. Maybe waiting a year will make them re-examine their priorities 💭. Belichick knows his stuff, even if he can be a bit gruff at times 😂.

idk why ppl r so mad about belichick gettin snubbed 🤷‍♂️ he's got 6 super bowls under his belt lol thats somethin! but u know what? i'm good with waitin a yr 4 him to get in 🕰️ roger craig was a beast too, but coaches do their thing 2 📚 belichick knows the game like the back of his hand 👍 lets just hope they make the hall of fame system more transparent n stuff 🔍

the whole thing just seems so one sided it feels like they're trying to make an example out of belichick i mean six super bowls for gods sake you'd think that would get him in the hall of fame but no instead its about some random player who's playing with house money 🤑 meanwhile belichick is over here building a legacy and still gets snubbed

🤔 I think its kinda weird how we weigh players vs coaches in the hall of fame... like Belichicks 6 superbowls is basically a resume for coaching greatness 🏆, but Craig got in this year 👍? Maybe its time to shake things up and make it more inclusive for all contributors? 💡
