Massachusetts State Police Trooper Suspended After Alleged Chokehold Incident with Ex-Girlfriend
A 32-year-old Massachusetts State Police trooper has been suspended without pay after being charged with domestic assault and other charges related to allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend multiple times during their relationship.
Wendel Seney, who had a law enforcement certification suspended by the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, faces numerous charges including strangulation or suffocation, two counts of assault and battery on a family or household member, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and a firearm possession felony.
The alleged incidents occurred during their less-than-a-year-long relationship, with Seney allegedly pulling his ex-girlfriend's hair and choking her during multiple arguments. The woman reported that when she told him to stop because it hurt, he stopped, indicated that he could do whatever he wanted, and pulled her hair again.
A particularly disturbing incident took place at a Celtics game at TD Garden where the woman alleged Seney drove away from her while she was holding on to the vehicle, saying "I don't give a f— about you [b—]. I hope you die." He drove 300 to 500 feet before she let go and "scraped her backside," according to court records.
Seney's lawyer did not return a request for comment.
