‘I hope you die’: State Police trooper suspended after he allegedly strangled ex

Massachusetts State Police Trooper Suspended After Alleged Chokehold Incident with Ex-Girlfriend

A 32-year-old Massachusetts State Police trooper has been suspended without pay after being charged with domestic assault and other charges related to allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend multiple times during their relationship.

Wendel Seney, who had a law enforcement certification suspended by the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, faces numerous charges including strangulation or suffocation, two counts of assault and battery on a family or household member, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and a firearm possession felony.

The alleged incidents occurred during their less-than-a-year-long relationship, with Seney allegedly pulling his ex-girlfriend's hair and choking her during multiple arguments. The woman reported that when she told him to stop because it hurt, he stopped, indicated that he could do whatever he wanted, and pulled her hair again.

A particularly disturbing incident took place at a Celtics game at TD Garden where the woman alleged Seney drove away from her while she was holding on to the vehicle, saying "I don't give a f— about you [b—]. I hope you die." He drove 300 to 500 feet before she let go and "scraped her backside," according to court records.

Seney's lawyer did not return a request for comment.

OMG, this is so not cool 🤯! Like, I get that guys can be super possessive or jealous in their relationships, but choking someone? That's just crazy talk 💁‍♀️. And to think it happened at the TD Garden of all places - Celtics game and all 🏀👊. It's like, what was he thinking?! 😳 I'm literally shaking my head over here... the fact that she even stuck with him as long as she did is just wow 🤯. Suspension without pay might seem harsh, but tbh, it should be even more severe considering the charges and all 💔. Can't wait to see how this whole thing plays out! 🎬

This whole thing is just so messed up 🤯... like, someone who's supposed to be protecting people can do that to his own girlfriend? It's all about power and control, you know? And it's not even some grand romantic gesture, just plain old abuse. Like, how hard is it to respect boundaries?! I don't get why he thought a chokehold was a good idea, or why she didn't just leave him sooner... we should be supporting people who are trying to escape these situations, not enabling them.

🚔 The real question here is how does this reflect on the accountability of our law enforcement agencies? I mean, if someone can get suspended without pay after allegedly choking their ex-girlfriend multiple times, what about when they're out there putting their lives on the line to protect us? Are we just going to turn a blind eye to that kind of behavior?

It's like, are we prioritizing the safety of citizens over the personal relationships of our law enforcement officers? And what's with the certification suspension? Is that even enough to ensure they're qualified to be on the job? I think we need to take a closer look at how we hold our police departments accountable and make sure they're not just covering up for their own kind.

And let's be real, this is just another example of why we need stricter laws around domestic violence. It's not just about the perpetrator, it's about keeping our communities safe from harm. We can't afford to have someone who can choke someone and still get a slap on the wrist. We need real consequences for these kinds of actions. 💔

omg, this is so sickening 🤯😡, like what kinda dude chokes his ex girlfriend and then drives away from her at a basketball game?!?! the fact that he thought it was okay to threaten her like that is just messed up... i'm glad she's getting help now but it's crazy how some people think they can just control others through violence 🤷‍♀️

can u believe this 🤯? some cops think they can just get away with all that physical abuse cuz they got badges on 😡. newsflash: power doesn't make you above the law! Wendel Seney thought he was so big and bad, but really he's just a bully who couldn't handle being in a relationship 💔. 300 feet is NOT OKAY to drive away from someone who's clinging to your car 🚗. what if she had gotten seriously hurt or worse? I don't usually comment on these things, but this one just seems so outrageous 🙅‍♂️. suspension without pay doesn't even seem like enough punishment in my opinion...

I'm kinda surprised they suspended him already, don't get me wrong, choking someone is never okay 🤕. But can we really say he was acting like some kind of monster from the start? I mean, his ex reported all this stuff and now she's got charges against her too... it sounds like a pretty messy situation to me. And what's with the law enforcement background thing? Is that even relevant here? Anyway, I guess you can't just sweep these kinds of things under the rug anymore, but at the same time, can we really say we know the whole story?

Ugh, this is so messed up 🤯! Like, what even is wrong with people? This trooper was supposed to be protecting and serving, but instead he's a domestic abuser? It's like, how can you reconcile that? The fact that he has a law enforcement certification suspended already is bad enough, but now this? It's just so frustrating 💔. And the part where he allegedly said "I hope you die" at the Celtics game? That's just heartbreaking 😭. It's not even about the physical abuse, it's about the emotional trauma and the fact that someone in a position of power is supposed to be taking care of and respecting others, but instead they're doing the opposite. I mean, what's wrong with us as a society that we can't get this right? 😔

😞 this is just another case of someone in power abusing it, no wonder the woman was scared enough to report him 🤯 she was literally held hostage by his aggression and now he gets suspended without pay? that should be the least he gets considering what happened to her 😔 and 300 to 500 feet is a pretty long drive away from getting your girlfriend's attention, I guess some people just don't learn from their past 😳

can you believe this?! someone who's supposed to be protecting people is doing the opposite? i mean, i'm glad the ex-girlfriend spoke out and got some help, but it's just so sad that she had to go through all this crap in her relationship... and now he's suspended without pay?! about time, right? 😒👮‍♂️ still, it's a shame that domestic violence can happen anywhere, even among people who are supposed to be in positions of authority... and what really gets me is the part where she said "i hope you die"... that's just so intense 🤯. anyway, i guess we should all be glad that someone was there to help her and get Seney suspended ASAP 💪

omg what's going on with these cops?? 🤦‍♂️ like they're supposed to be enforcing the law but they can't even control themselves in their personal lives? this guy was literally choking his girlfriend and she's the one who ended up getting hurt... it's wild. and now he's a state trooper suspended without pay 🚔😕. i feel bad for the ex-girlfriend, that must've been so scary and humiliating. shouldn't be a problem if you're just gonna pull your hair and choke someone in an argument... sounds like he was already out of control before she even said stop 😳.

🤕 This is super concerning! A police officer, especially one who's supposed to be helping people, gets caught choking his ex-girlfriend multiple times... that's just sick 😷. I mean, what kind of relationship like that? It's even more messed up since it happened at a Celtics game - can you imagine the poor woman feeling scared and vulnerable in public like that? 🙅‍♀️

And to make matters worse, he's been charged with all these serious crimes... reckless operation of a vehicle? That's insane! 🚗💥 The fact that he was driving away from her at a Celtics game is just ridiculous. I hope the justice system gets him for what he's done 💪.

It's good that the trooper got suspended without pay, but I think it's only the beginning. He needs to face real consequences for his actions 🤝. This kind of behavior can't be taken lightly - we need to hold our law enforcement officials to a higher standard 👮‍♂️.

Ugh, it's just so heartbreaking to see someone in power, like a state police trooper, doing something so heinous to their ex. I mean, who does that? It's like they thought they were above the law or that they could just control their partner through violence and intimidation. The fact that he drove away from her during an argument at the Celtics game is absolutely terrifying... like, what if she had gotten hurt or worse? And for him to say those horrible things to her afterwards... it's just disgusting. Anyway, I think this suspension should be a lot longer than just without pay - she deserves justice and some real accountability here. 🚔😡

🚨😱 Can't believe what's going on with the cops right now! I mean, I get that relationships can be tough but a choking incident during an argument is just crazy talk 🤯. And to think it happened at a Celtics game, of all places - how embarrassing for everyone involved 😳. The fact that he drove away from her like that? That's some messed up stuff right there... 🚗💨. As someone who's been in relationships and seen the good, bad, and ugly, I just hope this guy gets the help he needs (and a serious time-out from law enforcement) 💪🏽.

omg that's so scary! like how can someone do that to another person especially in a relationship?? the whole choking thing is just too much it's like he was trying to control her or something

i don't get why she didn't leave him sooner tho.. wasn't she scared at all? i mean, pulling hair and saying "i hope you die" is not okay at all

anyway, 5 years is a looong suspension without pay... hopefully he faces serious charges for this and gets help for whatever issues led to this behavior

it's just so sad that it took an incident like this to get someone in trouble... can't we all just be kind and respectful to each other??

😕 this is super disturbing, choking someone can lead to serious injuries & brain damage... hope the ex-girlfriend is okay after all that! 🤕 also really sad that Seney was able to get away with driving 300-500 feet while holding onto her, that's just crazy talk 😂 glad they suspended him without pay tho, needs to take responsibility for his actions 👮‍♂️
