Hellen Obiri Crushes TCS New York City Marathon Women’s Record

Kenya Dominates TCS New York City Marathon with Historic Women's Record

In a dominating performance, Kenya swept the women's podium at the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, cementing its status as one of the country's most successful track and field nations. The 35-year-old Hellen Obiri shattered the 23-year-old women's record, clocking an astonishing time of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds.

Obiri's performance was nothing short of impressive, especially considering she had to navigate a challenging course that forced several top contenders to fall off. However, it was her determination and sheer speed that set her apart from the pack. Fellow Kenyan Sharon Lokedi also broke the record with a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 7 seconds, while Sheila Chepkiriu secured third place in 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 24 seconds.

The American women's field put up a respectable showing, but ultimately fell short of challenging Obiri and her fellow Kenyans. Fiona O'Keeffe led the charge for Team USA, finishing fourth overall in 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 49 seconds, while Annie Frisbie secured fifth place with a time of 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 12 seconds.

In contrast, the men's field was dominated by Kenyan Benson Kipruto, who won the men's title with a blistering time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 9 seconds. Alexander Mutiso took second place in 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 9 seconds, adding to his victories elsewhere in Chicago and Boston.

The performance marked Obiri's latest victory at the TCS New York City Marathon, building on her reputation as one of the world's top marathon runners.

obiri is literally a machine lol I mean have you seen that time she ran? 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds?! that's insane! what even is humanly possible anymore? and those american girls can't touch her I guess they should just stick to running from zombies in the apocalypse

🏃‍♀️😍 Hellen Obiri's record is insane! 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds? That's a new level even for pro runners 🤯 I'm not surprised though, Kenyans are known for their speed and endurance. And Sharon Lokedi breaking the record too? 👀 That's some serious competition right there. The American women didn't stand a chance 😅

😊 So what do you guys think about this? Kenya totally crushed it at the NYC Marathon! I mean, can you believe Hellen Obiri broke that 23-year-old record? 🏃‍♀️🔥 And she wasn't even nervous about the course, just went out and killed it. The American women didn't stand a chance, but hey, they still showed some respectable times.

And what's up with this Kenyan dominance? They're like the track and field superpowers or something! Benson Kipruto was on fire too, winning that men's title in record time. 🏆👊 But I have to ask, do you think it's fair for Kenya to be so successful in these marathons? Are they getting some kind of special training or support that the others aren't?

I'm not saying it's cheating or anything 😅, but it does seem like Kenya has a pretty strong system in place. Maybe it's just a case of them being really good at what they do, though? 🤔

I think its pretty cool that Kenya is killing it at the NYC marathon 🏃‍♀️🇰🇪! Its like they're saying we're a nation on the move, pushing ourselves to be the best and breaking records left and right 🔥. But you know what's even more impressive? The fact that these women are role models for young girls back home, showing them that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible 💪. I wonder if the US is doing enough to support their own athletes and encourage kids to get involved in sports? It seems like Kenya has a pretty strong system in place 🤔. And can we talk about how this performance reflects on our global competitiveness? Are we giving other countries a run for their money or are they just dominating because of their resources 💸?

omg 🤯 obiri is like a total rockstar right now!!! she just shattered that historic women's record and i'm literally in awe 😲 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds?!?! that's insane! 🤯 i mean, the course was tough and all, but it's clear she's got some serious skills 🏃‍♀️. i wonder what her secret is... maybe it's just hard work and dedication? 💪 either way, kudos to her for crushing it and inspiring us all with her awesomeness 💖

omg what a day for kenya's athletics team!!! 🏃‍♀️😍 hellen obiri's record is insane!! i'm not surprised though, she's been crushing it in competitions for years now 💪 sharon lokedi and sheila chepkiriu are super talented too! 👯‍♀️ and Benson Kipruto is looking fierce on the track 🏃‍♂️ he's got that winning streak going strong! 😎 can't wait to see what they'll do next 🤔

OMG, 35-yr-old Hellen Obiri is literally a machine 🤖! I mean, she broke that crazy 23-yr-old women's record by like, a whole minute 🕰️! And can we talk about how tough the course was? Like, several top contenders fell off 🏃‍♀️. But honestly, it's all Obiri and her squad 💪 - Sharon Lokedi and Sheila Chepkiriu came through with sick times too 👍. I'm not surprised they dominated tho - Kenyans have been crushing marathons for years 🔥. Obiri's gonna be hard to beat next year 💃, but I'm hyped to see what she does! 🏆

Wow 🏃‍♀️🇰🇪 Hellen Obiri is a total beast! Breaking that women's record by over a minute is insane! I mean, who else can say they can dominate a course like that? And Sharon Lokedi coming in second isn't bad either 😎. The Kenyan team is on fire right now!

I'm totally loving this record-breaking performance by Hellen Obiri 🤩, but at the same time, I'm kinda worried that Kenyans are dominating every major marathon... like, isn't it time for someone else to step up? 😬 And what's up with all these guys breaking records left and right? Benson Kipruto is just so fast, but doesn't that mean he's putting too much pressure on himself? 🤔 I mean, can't we have some more balanced competition for once? 💪

🏃‍♀️🇰🇪 Kenya is on fire 🔥! Hellen Obiri absolutely crushed it 😲 with a historic women's record 📚 2:19:51 seconds 💨! And Sharon Lokedi wasn't far behind 👫, also breaking the record 🎉. The American team put up a good fight 🇺🇸, but no match for our Kenyan queen 👑. Benson Kipruto is looking strong too ⏱️, dominating the men's field like a boss 🤴. Can't wait to see what these talented athletes do next 🤔! 🎉

OMG you guys 🤩 I just watched this vid of Hellen Obiri crushin' the NYC Marathon record and I'm dyin' 😂! I mean, 2 hours and 19 minutes?! That's insane! 😲 But what really gets me is how dominant Kenya was in this thing. Like, they swept the women's podium and basically ran circles around everyone else 🏃‍♀️.

I'm not gonna lie, though... it makes me a little sad 😔 that the American team didn't put up more of a fight. I mean, Fiona O'Keeffe was killin' it out there 💪, but she just couldn't keep up with Obiri and company 🤷‍♀️.

But hey, at the end of the day, all that matters is that Hellen broke the record and looked amazing doin' it 😎. And let's be real... who needs drama when you've got incredible athletes crushin' records? 💯

🏃‍♀️😱 I mean, come on, this just goes to show that Kenyan athletes are literally running circles around everyone else! 🔄 It's like they're saying, "Sorry, folks, but we're just better at training and competing than you!" 🙄 And let's be real, it's not like the course was super challenging or anything. I mean, if anyone can navigate a tough course, it's got to be those Kenyans! 💪 They must be getting some kind of special government funding or something... just kidding about that. 😂 But seriously, have you seen the latest track and field policies? Are they trying to give those Kenyans an unfair advantage by, say, investing in world-class training facilities? 🤔

OMG yooo 😲 Kenya is literally unstoppable in track & field right now 🏃‍♀️! They've got an incredible team of talented runners and it's amazing to see them breaking records left and right 💥. Hellen Obiri is a total legend for shattering that 23-year-old record 📆 - I mean, can you even imagine the amount of hard work & dedication she must have put in to reach those times? 🔥 It's inspiring to see her determination & speed pay off like that 😊 and I'm sure we'll be seeing more records broken from these talented Kenyan athletes 👏.

I don't usually comment but I'm actually really impressed by Hellen Obiri's record-breaking run 🏃‍♀️🔥 2 hours and 19 minutes is insane! She's definitely got some serious speed going on 💨. And it's not just her, the whole Kenyan team was on fire 🔥. I mean, Benson Kipruto's time of 2 hours and 8 minutes is crazy too 🤯. It's like they're born to run or something 😂. The American women didn't stand a chance, but that's not to say they didn't do well 👏. Fiona O'Keeffe was the only one who gave Obiri some competition, but sadly she couldn't keep up with her pace ⏱️. Anyway, kudos to Hellen and Team Kenya for crushing it 🙌!

OMG 🤩 I'm loving this, Kenya is absolutely killing it in track and field right now! 2:19:51? Insane 😲! Hellen Obiri must be running on pure speed demon fuel or something 😂. And Sharon Lokedi coming close with a record time of her own? That's some serious competition 💪. I'm a bit surprised the American women didn't put up more of a fight, but I guess it's hard to take down a team that's been training for months 🏃‍♀️.

And can we talk about Benson Kipruto's win? 2:08:09? That's just ridiculous 😂. He must be running on coffee and determination alone ☕️. Alexander Mutiso taking second place, though? Solid performance, I guess 👌. All in all, it was an amazing race with some incredible performances from the Kenyan team 🙌!

Ugh 🤦‍♂️ I'm still trying to figure out why they can't have a live tracking feature for this event on the app... I mean, it's not like it's rocket science to get that right 😒. And what's with the lack of detailed stats? Like, how many athletes did they filter before the start, and what was the temperature at the beginning of the race? 🤔 Just basic stuff that we expect from a major event... 👎

🏃‍♀️🇰🇪 oh great, another Kenyan woman breaks a record... I mean, who doesn't love watching women run really fast? 🤣 but seriously, 2 hours and 19 minutes is insane! I guess all those miles of eating ugali and sambuca pay off in the end 😂. And poor American women's team, just got schooled by some Kenyan girls... maybe they should stick to eating pizza and watching Netflix 🍕📺?

OMG 🤩 I'm totally in awe of Hellen Obiri 💥! She's literally a goddess on the track 🌟! That record she broke is insane 🤯 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds?!?! It's like she's flying across that finish line 😂. And can we talk about Sharon Lokedi too? 🤩 She came in second and crushed it 🏆! I'm loving the Kenyan vibes 💃🕺. Benson Kipruto is looking strong too 🤝, but honestly, I'm all about Obiri right now 😘. Go Team Kenya 🇰🇪!

Obiri's record is crazy 💥🏃‍♀️. I mean, 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 51 seconds? That's like running from London to Paris in under 3 hours 🚀! And she had to deal with that tough course too 😩. It's not just about the speed, it's also about mental toughness, right? 💪 I'm loving this Kenyan dominance tho 🇰🇪 - they're literally setting records left and right 🔥. The women's field was solid, but I think the guys were way more impressive 🤔. Benson Kipruto's time is insane! 😲 Can't wait to see what Obiri does next ⏱️. Maybe she'll break her own record? 📈
