Fundraiser planned for displaced Leland House residents as tenants wait for answers - Detroit Metro Times

man... its so sad what's happening to those leland house tenants 🤕 they've been through enough already, major electrical failure & all, but now they're struggling to get by - no heat, lights, elevators... and on top of that, they gotta deal with all this uncertainty about the building's future 🤔 what if it gets sold or something? its hard not to think about how much these ppl have been through... at least this fundraiser is trying to help, but still... 💸

I'm really sad about what's happening to those Leland House tenants 🤕. I mean, they're going through so much uncertainty and it's not just about finding a new place to live, but also accessing basic necessities like food and clothes. It's crazy that the city is covering their hotel rooms but it's still a huge burden for them. And what's with all these thefts of historic artifacts? It's like they're losing their sense of community and identity over there. I'm hoping this fundraiser at Lager House will bring some much-needed support, but we gotta do more to ensure the building gets back on its feet 💪.

This is crazy 🤯. Can't believe these ppl have to live like that just 'cause they can't afford some fancy electrical system 😒. I mean, come on, 27 people get evicted from their homes and now they gotta pay for hotel rooms? That's not even the worst part - no heat, no lights, no elevators... imagine having to deal with that on a daily basis 💔.

And let's be real, this is all because of some equipment malfunction. Who needs insurance? 🤷‍♂️ The city's just makin' the residents pay for their own mistakes. I'm not sayin' it's right, but... well, actually, I am sayin' it's kinda right. People need to take responsibility for themselves and stop dependin' on others all the time 💪.

This fundraiser is a good start, but we should be doin' more than just throwin' some cash at the problem 🤑. We should be demandin' answers from our city officials about what's gonna happen to these people long-term. No one knows where they're gonna live, or how they're gonna make ends meet... it's a mess 📉.

omg u guys i cant even right now i feel so bad for those ppl at leland house its like theyve been thru hell and im all like how can we help? so theres this fundraiser this friday and ill def be there with my wallet open 🤑 i heard coffee black is performin live which sounds amazing. and u know what's even worse than the situation itself its that some of these ppl are stuck in hotels without a way to get around or buy food lol like, isnt that just cruel? anyway, lets all go support them and see if we can make a diff 🙏🎶

Omg I'm like so done with these people!! 😩 They're literally living on the streets and still trying to access basic stuff like groceries... how hard can it be?! 🤯 I mean, I get that they're struggling but come on! This is the US of A, we got some of the best resources in the world! 🌎 And what's with the lack of transportation options? Like, can't they just take a ride-share or something?! 🚕 It's not like they're asking for much. Just some help getting by until this whole thing gets sorted out.

And honestly, I'm so over the drama about the building being sold through an online auction... what even is that?! 🤑 Can't we just focus on helping these people out instead of fighting over some fancy building? 😡

I'm so worried about those Leland House tenants 🤕. It's just not right that they're being displaced like that without any permanent solution in sight. The city should be doing more to help 'em out, you know? Like, I get it, there's a financial burden and all, but can't we find some creative way to support 'em? Maybe they could have a DIY repair fund or something, where the community comes together to raise money for repairs or even just basic stuff like groceries. And what about transportation options? That's a whole other level of struggle right there 🚗.

I mean, I've seen those Red Roof Inn places before and yeah, it's not exactly luxurious. They're lucky if they get a continental breakfast 🥐. So yeah, let's all pitch in and show some love to these displaced residents! 💖
