Eric Ramsay: West Brom appoint former Man Utd coach to replace Ryan Mason

West Bromwich Albion have appointed a new head coach, Eric Ramsay, to replace the sacked Ryan Mason. The 34-year-old former Manchester United coach has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship side after leaving Minnesota United.

Ramsay's appointment comes after a dismal run of form under Mason, who was let go following a 10th consecutive away defeat. The club currently sits 18th in the table and Ramsay will look to turn their fortunes around.

The new head coach has experience working with top-tier teams, having previously worked as an assistant coach at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag. He also spent six months as an assistant coach with the Wales national team before joining Minnesota United last February.

Ramsay's tenure got off to a flying start when he became the youngest permanent head coach in MLS history, leading Minnesota United into the playoffs and setting a club-record points total in his first season. He has now been brought in at West Bromwich Albion to oversee the team's campaign in the Championship.

The 34-year-old will be assisted by Dennis Lawrence, who joins him from Minnesota having previously worked with Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic and Everton, before joining Mark Robins at Coventry City.

Ramsay will face a tough test as he looks to get West Bromwich Albion back on track. The club's next five fixtures include home games against Middlesbrough and Derby, as well as away trips to Portsmouth and Stoke.

just saw the news about Eric Ramsay being appointed at West Bromwich Albion πŸ€”, gotta say i'm cautiously optimistic about this one... they've had some pretty tough times under Ryan Mason, but if anyone can turn it around, its that guy πŸ™Œ. had a crackin' first season with Minnesota United, and now hes comin in here to sort out our Baggies πŸ’ͺ. dont get me wrong, its not gonna be easy, especially with those next 5 games lined up against some tough opponents... but id say hes the right man for the job πŸ€žπŸ‘

omg have you tried those new plant-based milks they got in the supermarkets? i mean idk about them or whatever but my mate says they're pretty good πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway back to west bromwich albion... i feel bad for them, been down the tubes like the team itself lol 18th in the table? that's gotta be tough for eric ramsay what's he gonna do with those fixtures though? maybe get them to play some fun games instead of boring old league matches 🏟️

I'm not sure if this is the best move for West Bromwich Albion πŸ€”. I mean, they've been having a pretty rough season already, and bringing in a new head coach mid-season can be tough. Eric Ramsay has some great experience, but he's also got a lot of pressure on his shoulders - the team needs to turn things around ASAP or they might struggle to avoid relegation 🚨.

I'm curious to see how Ramsay will work with Dennis Lawrence, though - they've both got some impressive credentials. And I hope the fans are excited about the new signings and the home games against Middlesbrough and Derby might just be the boost they need ⚽️. Still, it's a tough ask for Ramsay to turn things around in such a short time... 😬

I'm still trying to figure out how some of these young coaches can just pop up from nowhere and save a struggling team like West Brom 🀯! Eric Ramsay, 34, I mean... what's next? A 25-year-old taking over at Arsenal? πŸ˜‚ Anyway, I'm keeping an eye on this guy - seems like he's got some solid experience under his belt. Minnesota United was one of the best teams in MLS during his tenure, and now he's brought in to turn West Brom around... that's a big ask! πŸ’ͺ The gaffer's also got some good back-up with Dennis Lawrence coming in, so fingers crossed for the Baggies! 🀞

I think Eric Ramsay is gonna be a game changer for West Bromwich Albion πŸ€”πŸ’ͺ. The guy's got experience working with top teams and he knows how to get the results. I mean, leading Minnesota United into the playoffs in his first season was impressive, no doubt about it 😎. And now, he's gotta do the same at The Hawthorns, but this time in a tougher league. The fact that he's only 34 is also a bonus, might be like getting a fresh pair of boots πŸ‘Ÿ. Ramsay's got a tough task ahead of him, but I think he's up for it πŸ™Œ.

πŸ€” just wonderin if eric ramsay is gonna be able to turn things around at west bromwich albion πŸ”„ they really needed a change after that 10 game losing streak 😩 ramsay's got some decent experience under his belt tho, had a solid stint with minnesota united and stuff πŸ’ͺ but it's the championship, you know? πŸ”₯ gotta be realistic about what's achievable here πŸ‘ at least he's gonna have dennis lawrence by his side πŸ‘« think that duo might just do the trick 🀞

I'm super stoked about Eric Ramsay taking over at West Bromwich Albion 🀩! This dude has been doing some sick stuff in the MLS, leading Minnesota United into the playoffs and setting a club-record points total πŸ“ˆ. His experience working with top-tier teams is gonna be a game-changer for this club πŸš€. And, I gotta say, Dennis Lawrence is a solid addition to his coaching staff πŸ‘. The fact that he's worked with some big-name managers like Roberto Martinez and Mark Robins is massive πŸ’ͺ. Ramsay's got the skills and the know-how to turn West Bromwich Albion around and get them back up the table πŸ”₯. Bring it on! πŸ†

I feel like they're throwing good money after bad with this new coach, Eric Ramsay 😐. I mean, he's got some decent experience under his belt, but West Bromwich Albion are in a tough spot right now πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. The fact that Ryan Mason got sacked after 10 straight away defeats says a lot about the team's problems πŸ’”. It'll be interesting to see how Ramsay can turn things around, especially with those tricky fixtures coming up ⚽️. Maybe he can bring some fresh energy and ideas to the table, but I'm not holding my breath 🀞. What do you guys think? Should we be giving him a chance to prove himself? πŸ‘€

man I think this is a great move for West Bromwich Albion 🀞! they've been having a tough time lately and it's about time someone with some serious experience stepped in. Eric Ramsay's got the pedigree, he's worked with top teams like Manchester United and Wales, so I'm sure he'll be able to whip this place back into shape πŸ”₯. 18th in the table is a long way off from safety, but if anyone can do it, it's him πŸ’ͺ. let's hope he brings some much-needed stability and consistency to the team πŸ“ˆ.

πŸ€” I'm thinking about how this new head coach is like a reset button for West Bromwich Albion - they're literally starting from scratch after that 10-game losing streak πŸ“‰. It's gonna be interesting to see if Ramsay can bring some positivity back to the team, especially with Dennis Lawrence by his side πŸ‘Š. The way he turned Minnesota United around in just one season is pretty impressive πŸ’ͺ... but can he replicate that success in a lower league? βš”οΈ Either way, it's gonna be fun to watch! πŸŽ‰

Oh man, I'm so done with this season already! West Brom is literally stuck in the doldrums. Sacking Ryan Mason was a good move, but now they're bringing in some young blood from Minnesota United? Fingers crossed Eric Ramsay can turn things around, he's got some serious pedigree coming in from his days at Manchester United and Wales national team. The fact that he's only 34 is insane, like the guy's on fire! πŸš’ I just hope he can get them out of this 18th spot before it's too late, those next five games are gonna be a real test for him and the squad... 🀞
