Eagles odds and ends: A.J. Brown reportedly asked out, and could the Cowboys' next DC be a former Eagle?

Eagles' A.J. Brown Situation Takes a Turn for the Worse, Could Former Philly Coach Become Cowboys' Next DC?

In a move that has raised eyebrows, Philadelphia Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman appeared to suggest that A.J. Brown is not up for trade during his season-ending press conference on Thursday. However, it seems that feeling may not be mutual. Sources close to the team claim that Brown had "numerous times" inquired about being traded throughout the season, including as early as Week 3.

Brown's dissatisfaction with the Eagles' passing game has been well-documented, and his frustration has spilled over onto social media. Following a heated conversation with owner Jeffrey Lurie in November, Brown's gripes seemed to have subsided, but he continued to express his discontent after the team's loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

Roseman's non-answer about trading Brown sparked speculation that the Eagles might be willing to part ways with their star wideout. However, it appears that Roseman was trying to downplay the situation, suggesting that Brown loves football and is hard to find in free agency.

Meanwhile, there is growing interest in former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon becoming the Dallas Cowboys' next head coach. The Cowboys have reportedly entered Round 2 of their defensive coordinator interviews, with two Eagles – one former and one current – making up two-thirds of the finalists.

Christian Parker, a key member of the Eagles' defensive staff under head coach Nick Sirianni, is expected to join the Cowboys for an in-person interview this week. Parker has been instrumental in helping develop the Eagles' pass defense, and his presence could signal that the Cowboys are serious about building a strong unit.

Gannon's potential return to the NFL as a defensive coordinator would be a significant development in the NFC East rivalry between the Eagles and Cowboys. While Gannon left the Eagles high and dry to take the Cardinals HC job after saying he was staying, it appears that he has burned his bridges in Philadelphia. If he becomes the Cowboys' next DC, it will represent a full heel turn for him.

As the playoffs continue, there is at least one former Eagle who remains on all eight teams competing for a championship – Patriots defensive tackle Milton Williams. The 2-seed New England Patriots won a ring with the Eagles last year and are trying to win another this season.

I'm tellin' ya, trade rumors around A.J. Brown have been goin' 'round for ages 🤯... seems like everyone's got an opinion on what's gonna happen next 💡. I mean, I get it, he's not happy with the Eagles' passing game, but you'd think they'd've made some moves to address that by now 🤔. And then Roseman comes out and says he's not bein' traded? That just raises more questions 🤷‍♂️.

And what's with all this talk about Jonathan Gannon comin' back to the Eagles? 🙄 I mean, I loved him as a DC, but now he's burnin' bridges left and right 🔥. And if he does end up in Dallas, that'd just be crazy 😱... the whole NFC East thing is already intense enough without addin' more drama to it 🤯.

I'm still keepin' an eye on Milton Williams though, that kid's been all over the map this season 👀... I love seein' a former Eagle do well in the playoffs 💪. Fingers crossed for him and the Pats! 🏆

omg i just saw a vid of a bird flying really fast and i was like wow that's so cool 🐦🏃‍♂️ i don't think i could ever be good at football though i'm bad at catching even a ball in gym class lol and speaking of the eagles i wonder why they're being so quiet about aj brown he seems super unhappy with his team and stuff what's going on with that 🤔

A.J Brown's drama is getting old 🤯. It seems like he's not happy in Philly, but Roseman's non-answer on trading him might be just that – a non-answer. Maybe he's right that Brown loves the game, but it's clear he wants out. The Cowboys seem to be sniffing around Gannon, which would be a big shake-up for the NFC East. I'm not sure what to make of Christian Parker joining them, though... maybe he can help turn things around?

🤣 so howie roseman thinks aj brown is like "nah, i'm good" with the eagles? please 🙄. I mean, we all know that guy has been expressing his discontent on social media for weeks now. it's not exactly subtle 📢. and meanwhile, he's still making millions under contract 😒. I guess you could say he's just "passionate" about football... yeah right 🤑. anyway, i'm loving the drama that's unfolding in philly land 💁‍♀️. if aj brown is looking for a way out, might as well be with the cowboys 🤠🏻. and omg jonathan gannon becoming the next dc coach? what a twist 😱. burn his bridges and all that... I mean, who doesn't love a good heel turn in nfl land 💥?

OMG, you guys, I'm like totally surprised that Howie Roseman didn't just come out and say A.J. Brown is for sure trading 🤑. I mean, he did kinda hint at it, but not really. Like, if he's trying to downplay the situation, then maybe it is a thing? But also, what's with everyone thinking he's being all secretive about it? Roseman is like super good at his job, so probably knows exactly what's going on 💁‍♀️.

And omg, Jonathan Gannon as the Cowboys' next DC would be SO interesting 🤔. I mean, dude left Philly high and dry for that Cardinals job, so if he goes back to the Eagles now, he'd basically be a traitor 🔥. But at the same time, it would be kinda awesome to see him bring some Eagles magic to AT&T Stadium. Can't wait to see how this all plays out 🤞.

OMG, you guys! 🤯 I'm low-key surprised that A.J. Brown isn't being traded by the Eagles, but now it seems like he's still feeling frustrated about his situation #EaglesNation #NFLTradeRumors. I think Howie Roseman was just trying to downplay things, but if Brown is really unhappy, maybe a change of scenery would be best for him 🤷‍♂️ #AJBrown #NFLFreeAgency.

And can we talk about Jonathan Gannon becoming the Cowboys' next head coach? 🤔 I've got major doubts about this one, tbh. He burned his bridges with the Eagles, and now he's being considered to join them again? Talk about a weird turn of events 😂 #CowboysNation #NFCEast.

On a more positive note, Milton Williams is still repping the Patriots and is looking fierce in the playoffs 💪! It'll be awesome if they can win another ring this year 🏆 #PatriotsNation #NFLPlayoffs.

Man, A.J. Brown's situation is getting crazy 😳! I was thinking he was gonna be our guy for years to come but now it seems like we're stuck with him or wanna trade him 🤔. Howie Roseman's non-answer about trading him has me wondering if we're even gonna make a move. On the other hand, Jonathan Gannon becoming the Cowboys' DC would be a huge get for them 🤑! I mean, who wouldn't want to coach against us every week? 😂 And can you believe Christian Parker is interviewing with the Cowboys too?! That's some interesting stuff going on behind the scenes 👀.

OMG u guys!! So I'm reading about A.J Brown & it's like, he's not happy in Philly 🤔🏈!!! I feel him tho, passing game can be super boring sometimes 😴. But Howie Roseman was all evasive about trading him during the press conference...🤷‍♂️ like what's good? 🤯 Anyway, did u hear that JGannon might become the Cowboys' DC?? 🎉 That would be a BIG deal! 💥 If he's gonna coach against Philly tho, I'll be rooting for the Eagles 💪🏈

Ugh, I'm getting so tired of these NFL drama circles... Like, A.J. Brown is clearly not happy in Philly and now it seems like Howie Roseman's just being stubborn about trading him 🙄. But honestly, can't we just have a straightforward conversation about player dissatisfaction for once? It feels like everyone's trying to spin this as some kind of PR stunt. Meanwhile, Jonathan Gannon might be the real hero here – I mean, who else but him could make a heel turn look that good? 🤣 And on a totally unrelated note, has anyone seen Milton Williams' playoff beard game in action? That dude's got some serious facial hair magic 🔮.

I'm low-key salty about A.J. Brown's situation. It's weird that Howie Roseman is now trying to convince people that Brown loves football, but like, come on? We've seen his side of things on social media and it's pretty clear he's not exactly happy with the Eagles' passing game. And what's up with him having "numerous times" asked about being traded throughout the season? It feels like a PR stunt to me.

On a related note, I'm intrigued by Jonathan Gannon becoming the Cowboys' next head coach. He's got some baggage from his time in Philly, but he was definitely instrumental in developing our pass defense last year. If he does end up joining the Cowboys, it could be pretty interesting for the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry.

Oh, and can we talk about Milton Williams? The dude is still on all eight teams competing for a championship! That's crazy. Maybe he'll come back to Philly when his team needs him most

idk why roseman's all like that, aj brown's been hella vocal about his unhappiness with the eagles' passing game all season long 🤔. if he's already been asking to be traded in week 3, it sounds like he's had enough of philly for good 👋. and now this news about gannon potentially becoming the cowboys' next dc? that's just salt on an open wound 🔥. i mean, can you blame him though? gannon left philly all messed up last year and is basically the anti-chris parker 🤦‍♂️. but seriously, if he does end up with dallas, it's gonna be a whole mess in the nfc east rivalry 👊.

OMG, like, I'm so surprised that A.J. Brown's drama isn't getting any attention 🙄... Meanwhile, I'm over here thinking Howie Roseman's non-answer was, like, super obvious 🤷‍♀️. I mean, who needs to downplay the situation when you're just gonna make everyone wonder if he's trying to keep Brown on the team? 🤔 But hey, at least Jonathan Gannon is back in the mix for the Cowboys' coaching job... which is pretty cool because we all know he burned his bridges with us 😒. On a more positive note, I'm glad Milton Williams is still repping the Eagles 24/7 💪. At least someone's got their priorities straight.

OMG u guys 🤯 A.J Brown situation is getting SO dramatic lol. Like, I get it he's not happy with his passing game but trading him already?? 🤔 I think Roseman was just trying to downplay it like he said Brown loves football and all that jazz 💁‍♂️. But if he's really asking to be traded, wouldn't that be kinda huge news or wut? 📰

I gotta say, I'm loving the drama unfolding in Philly right now 😂! A.J. Brown's situation has taken a turn for the worse, but you know what? It's opening up some amazing opportunities for other players and coaches 🤩! If Jonathan Gannon does become the Cowboys' next DC, it'll be a game-changer for their pass defense - I mean, have you seen the guy's skills in Philly? 🔥

And can we talk about Christian Parker joining the Cowboys for an interview? That's some serious talent moving to Big D 🤝! The Eagles will definitely miss his expertise on developing young players. But hey, it's all part of the cycle - new beginnings and whatnot 💪.

Plus, did you see that Milton Williams is still ballin' with the Patriots? 😎 That guy was a stud in Philly, and I'm so glad he's getting a chance to shine elsewhere. The NFL is full of twists and turns, but one thing's for sure - it's gonna be an exciting playoffs! 🏈

I'm low-key worried about A.J. Brown's situation 🤕, dude. If he's not happy here, I don't wanna see him on another team tearing it up. Roseman is being all vague about trading him, but if Brown's been asking to go since Week 3... yeah, something's gotta give. Maybe the Eagles are trying to keep him happy? 🤔 But honestly, if they're not willing to make a move, he might just end up on another team like the Cowboys and become their star wideout. That would be wild 🤯.

🤔 I'm so done with A.J. Brown's antics 🙄, if he thinks he can just tweet about how unhappy he is and then act like he didn't already have plenty of opportunities to leave... come on dude! 😂 Howie Roseman was right to downplay it, Brown's all bark and no bite 💁‍♂️. And honestly, I think the Eagles would be better off without him anyway 🙅‍♂️. On a related note, if Jonathan Gannon does become the Cowboys' DC, that's a huge blow to the Eagles - like they didn't already have enough drama with Brown... 🤯

man I'm kinda feeling like A.J. Brown's situation is a metaphor for our lives, you know? we're all just trying to find our place in the game, but sometimes things don't work out like we thought they would 🤔. and then there are these situations where people get stuck, or feel trapped, and they start to question everything. it's like when Brown says he loves football, but deep down he's feeling unfulfilled 💔. and then you've got the Eagles trying to figure out what to do with him, while also considering other options, which is like life itself – we're all just making moves, trying to find our next play 🏈.

OMG I'm so done with A.J. Brown drama 😒! Like, if he's already having convo's about tradin' on social media, it's clear he's not happy here 🤔. And now Howie Roseman is all like "he loves football" 🙄... yeah sure, that's why he's been sayin' all those mean things about the team in public 💁‍♀️. I get it, teams gotta make moves, but this feels so fishy 🐟. Can't we just have a honest convo about what's goin' on instead of all the back door deal makin' 🤝?
