Disney+ gets HDR10+ via “over 1,000” Hulu titles

Disney+ Now Streaming in HDR10+ Format, But Not Everything.

The Disney+ streaming service has added support for the HDR10+ format, bringing its streaming capabilities more in line with those of rival platforms like Netflix and Apple TV. However, this move also raises questions about why not all content is available in this new format.

According to Samsung, "over 1,000" titles from Hulu are now available in HDR10+, which was acquired by Disney in June. The electronics company says that its Samsung Crystal UHD TVs and above from 2018 onward, including OLED TVs, support HDR10+. The Disney+ app on Apple's tvOS also lists HDR10+, according to an article on FlatpanelsHD.

Disney+ initially only supported the HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats. But now with this update, users can expect a more advanced streaming experience.

Hulu started offering some content in HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision back in 2021. Now that Disney owns Hulu and has created a unified app with both Disney+ and Hulu content, it's also able to offer HDR10+ for its titles.

This update is somewhat limited, as only certain content from Hulu is available in HDR10+. However, additional Disney+ content will support HDR10+ "in the future," according to Samsung.

so now disney+ has hdr10+ but not everything 🤔 what's up with that? like, can't they just make all their shows and movies look pretty or something? it's 2025, for crying out loud! i mean, i guess it's cool that hulu is getting some love too, especially since disney owns them. but yeah, why not have everything in hdr10+ from the get go? 🤑

aww man... i feel u 🤗 like dont we deserve all the hdr10+ goodness already?! its like disney is still holdin back some of their awesome content 🤔 its not fair that only 1k titles from Hulu are available in this format, when there could be so much more 🤑 i mean whats the point of have a top-notch service if u cant give us all the bells and whistles? 🎉 lets keep hopin disney makes good on their promise and brings more hdr10+ content our way 👍

omg I'm so stoked that disney+ is finally getting into the high-end format game with hdr10+, but like what's good with all this extra hassle? shouldn't they be making everything available at once tho? i mean we're talking about a unified app for both disney+ and hulu now, so why not go all in on the hdr10+ vibes? 🤔📺 anyway, it's cool that samsung is supporting these new formats, especially with their crystal uhd TVs and stuff. I just hope the content is actually good too, i mean hdr10+ isn't worth anything if it's just buffering all day 😂

so I'm kinda mixed about this new HDR10+ thing on disney+, it's like they're catchin' up with the big boys but why not all their vids have it? 1k titles from hulu is a nice start tho, and i gotta admit, my samsung tv looks fire in high definition 😎. but at the same time, it feels like disney's just tryin' to one-up netflix now, and honestly, it's hard to be stoked when i'm waitin' for my fave shows & movies to come out in this new format...like, what's up with that? 🤔

I mean, what's up with this? You're adding support for HDR10+, but like 90% of your content still doesn't have it 🤔... I get it, not all content is created equal or whatever, but can we at least say that most new stuff will be in HDR10+ from now on? And what's up with the 2018 cutoff for Samsung TVs? That's like, a whole different generation of tech right there 😂. And don't even get me started on why Hulu didn't just support HDR10+ from the start... I mean, it's not like it's rocket science 🚀. I guess it's good that Disney is trying to keep up with Netflix and Apple TV now, but let's see how this all plays out in the future 📺.

So I'm super stoked that Disney+ is finally jumping on the HDR10+ bandwagon 🎉, it's about time, right? But what's up with the inconsistency? I mean, if they're going to offer HDR10+ for Hulu content, why not all of their own titles too? 🤔

It's like they're testing the waters, seeing how users react before making it a standard thing. But honestly, I'm a bit miffed that not everything is available in HDR10+, especially considering Samsung's massive support for this format on their TVs since 2018 💻.

Still, I'm all about progress and trying new things, so as long as they keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible with streaming, I'll be here cheering them on 🎊. Maybe it's just a matter of time before we see more Disney+ content in HDR10+, fingers crossed! 👍
