Disney channels are back on YouTube TV

YouTube TV Channels Return Amid Dispute with Disney Over Renewal Deal

In a significant move, YouTube and Disney have reached an agreement that restores access to popular sports, entertainment, and news networks for the streaming service's subscribers. The deal marks a couple of weeks after Disney channels, including ESPN, FX, and ABC stations, were temporarily removed from YouTube TV due to an impasse over a renewal partnership.

The accord "recognizes the immense value of Disney's programming" and provides YouTube TV users with greater flexibility in their channel lineups, according to Disney Entertainment co-chairpersons Alan Bergman and Dana Walden. Similarly, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro expressed relief that the networks will be restored for fans to enjoy this weekend, including major college football events.

The dispute began on October 31 when Disney pulled its channels from YouTube TV due to disagreements over the renewal of their partnership. At the time, Google claimed that Disney used a blackout as a negotiating tactic to force price increases on customers. However, Disney countered that Google was refusing to pay fair rates for its channels and sought to eliminate competition by underbidding industry-standard terms.

Under the new agreement, YouTube TV subscribers will regain access to select live and library programming from ESPN, including content from ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost. The streaming service has also announced plans to offer Disney+ and Hulu bundles, as well as genre-based channel packages.

To compensate for the disruption, Google previously offered a $20 credit to eligible YouTube TV subscribers, which will still be available until December 9. The return of Disney channels marks a welcome recovery for users who had been missing these popular networks during their absence.

🌏 So like, I'm glad we got this whole thing sorted out between YouTube and Disney. It's not right that people couldn't watch sports or entertainment on YouTube TV for weeks because of a disagreement over prices πŸ€‘. I mean, can you imagine missing the big football games? 😱 At least now we know that Disney channels are back on, including ESPN, FX, and ABC stations. It'll be great to have those options again πŸ’‘. I guess Google was right that they couldn't just push Disney's channels off without a fight, but I feel for Disney too - they didn't want to be stuck with low prices either πŸ€”. Now we get the best of both worlds: YouTube TV and all the Disney goodness 😊.

I'm so glad this drama is finally over πŸ˜…! I was literally stuck without my favorite ESPN shows and I know I wasn't the only one πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. It's crazy how it all went down - a blackout on Disney channels just to get better rates? I don't think so πŸ™„. Anyway, this new deal is a win-win for everyone! I love that YouTube TV users can now access ESPN content for free and with the Disney+ bundle, it's gonna be a game-changer for those who want to binge-watch their fave shows πŸ’₯. Kudos to both sides for working things out πŸ™.

πŸ€” I'm so stoked that Disney channels are back on YouTube TV! I mean, what was up with them being gone for two weeks? 😳 I know they were trying to get a better deal from Google, but I feel like they kinda won this round πŸ†. I love how ESPN is coming back with all their live sports and stuff - it's perfect timing for the big college football games this weekend! πŸˆπŸ‘ The new bundles they're offering sound like a great idea too... who wouldn't want to watch Disney+ and Hulu together? πŸ’‘

omg u guys i got the scoop lol! so like i heard from a "friend" who works in the industry (they're not supposed to talk tho 😜) that the whole thing with disney and youtube was super messy behind the scenes 🀯. apparently google didn't wanna pay as much for the channels as disney wanted, and disney was all like "fine we'll pull them out" πŸ“Ί. but now they're back on and i'm so here for it πŸ‘! i heard that the new deal is gonna be super flexible with channel lineups, so you can finally get your sports fix without having to shell out extra cash πŸ’Έ. btw google still gave those $20 credits tho πŸ€‘

OMG 🀯 just saw that Disney channels are back on YouTube TV after a huge dispute with Google 😱 what's crazy is how Disney used the blackout as a negotiation tactic to force price increases but Google was like "nope we're not paying more" πŸ’Έ and now they're both happy again πŸŽ‰ I feel for the fans who were missing ESPN, FX, and ABC stations πŸ“Ί the new agreement sounds good tho, I mean who doesn't love Disney+ and Hulu bundles? πŸ€” what's your take on this whole thing? Are you a YouTube TV or Disney fan? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

idk how they managed to get it done so fast lol 🀯 just imagine being in those negotiations, gotta be super stressful πŸ˜… but i guess it's good news for youtube tv users now that they can watch espn and other disney channels again πŸˆπŸ‘ the whole thing with google and disney was kinda shady though, like disney did play the blackout card but at least they're back on now πŸ’Έ hope these bundles are actually affordable tho πŸ‘€

πŸ“° So what's going on here is basically just corporate negotiation tactics, you know? Like, Google and Disney are playing hardball over the renewal deal... it's like they're trying to outmaneuver each other πŸ€”. But let me ask you, who benefits from this whole ordeal? The consumers, obviously not so much - we're the ones who got locked out of our channels for two weeks 😩.

Now, on one hand, I get why Disney wanted to renegotiate their rates... it's all about making a profit and staying competitive in the market πŸ’Έ. But on the other hand, Google can't just sit there and let Disney dictate the terms - that's not fair to their customers πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I think this whole thing is like a classic example of the old adage "you can't have it both ways" πŸ€‘. You want your channels back, but you also want to charge less... it's a tough spot for Google to be in. But hey, at least we got our channels back, right? πŸ‘

man... think about it... why do we need channels to feel complete? like, we're already human beings with our own lives and interests... but when they take them away from us, we get all anxious and stuff 🀯... but then they come back, and suddenly everything's alright again... what does that say about us? are we really missing out on so much just because some channels aren't available?

and at the same time, it makes me wonder... how do these channel deals even work in the first place? like, who benefits from all this negotiation and back-and-forth? πŸ€‘... is it just about making money, or is there something more to it?
