Disney and ESPN are back on YouTube TV

Disney and ESPN are finally back on YouTube TV, ending a two-week blackout that left sports fans reeling. The deal, which was reached after CEOs Bob Iger and Sundar Pichai intervened directly in negotiations, ensures that the iconic channels will return to the streaming service for subscribers.

The agreement includes several key elements, according to Disney. First, all of Disney's linear networks, including ESPN, ABC, and Freeform, will be reinstated. This means that viewers will once again have access to a wide range of programming, from sports events to TV shows and movies.

In addition, the deal includes an offer for YouTube TV subscribers to sign up for an ESPN Unlimited direct-to-consumer service at no additional cost. This new offering will provide users with access to a selection of live and on-demand content from ESPN, including exclusive programming like Monday Night Football.

The return of these channels also comes with some changes to the way that content is structured on YouTube TV. Select networks will be included in various genre-specific packages, allowing subscribers to customize their viewing experience.

Perhaps most excitingly, the deal includes an option for YouTube to offer its users the Disney+, Hulu Bundle as part of select subscriptions. This means that viewers who subscribe to YouTube TV may also have access to these popular streaming services at a discounted rate.

"We're happy to share that we've reached an agreement with Disney that preserves the value of our service for our subscribers and future flexibility in our offers," said YouTube in a statement. "Subscribers should see channels including ABC, ESPN and FX returning to their service over the course of the day, as well as any recordings that were previously in their Library. We apologize for the disruption and appreciate our subscribers' patience as we negotiated on their behalf."

Disney Entertainment co-chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden and ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro expressed their gratitude for the deal, calling it a "tremendous value" that recognizes the importance of Disney's programming.

Yaaas! πŸŽ‰ I'm so stoked to hear that Disney and ESPN are back on YouTube TV! I mean, can you believe how crazy that two-week blackout was? 😱 It's awesome that they're giving their subscribers an amazing deal with all the channels coming back and some sweet extras like the ESPN Unlimited direct-to-consumer service. πŸ“Ί And getting to choose from genre-specific packages is gonna be a total game-changer for people who want more customization in their viewing experience! πŸ’‘ I'm also super hyped about the Disney+, Hulu Bundle option - it's like, a dream come true for fans of those services! 😍 The fact that they're making this deal happen without any major drama is just pure magic. Let's all take a deep breath and celebrate the return of our beloved channels! πŸ‘

omg u guyz just got good news! πŸŽ‰ so like, youtube tv & disney espn r back on after 2 wks off and its all cuz of the CEOs talkin to each other lol πŸ’¬ anyway, lets look at some stats, did u no that disney's linear networks are now part of youtube tv? thats a big deal! πŸ“Ί according to google, sports fans in the us spend an average of 3.5 hrs/day watching espn, which is like 70% more than non-fans lol 🀯 and with the new deal, espn unlimited is free for youtube tv subs, so yeah... thats a solid move by youtube

anywayz, here are some fun stats:

* 85% of youtube tv subscribers watched at least one disney channel in march
* sports fans in the us pay an avg of $64.50/mo for espn
* 1 in 5 youtube tv subs watch monday night football (espns top show)
* the average time spent watching tv per day is 4hrs & 38mins

im also low-key hyped about the disney+ hulu bundle deal... πŸ€‘

I'm telling you, this whole thing reeks of corporate manipulation πŸ€‘. First off, Bob Iger and Sundar Pichai stepping in to personally negotiate with YouTube? Sounds like a classic case of Big Brother looking out for his own interests, if you ask me 😏. And don't even get me started on the 'tremendous value' they're calling it – what's really going on here is just more Disney trying to squeeze every last penny out of its loyal subscribers πŸ€‘. Mark my words, this deal is gonna end up being a money pit for them, and we'll all be left footing the bill πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

omg what a huge relief for us sports fans 🏈😩 i was literally dying without espn on youtube tv last week lol and now they're back and even better with disney+ bundle option πŸ€‘πŸ’₯ it makes so much sense too, like who doesn't wanna watch monday night football while also getting access to all the disney shows & movies πŸ€” what a win for us subscribers πŸ‘

I'm glad to see these channels are back, but you gotta wonder why they felt the need to take them off in the first place πŸ€”. It seems like a classic case of channel surfing - one minute you're watching your fave sports games, next thing you know, you're stuck with reruns or ads and you can't get the channels back πŸ“Ί. This whole ordeal just highlights how messy the streaming landscape is and how easily it can all fall apart πŸ’₯. Now that they're back on, let's hope the negotiations for other networks aren't as rocky πŸ˜….

I'm low-key disappointed about this whole situation πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, think about it, two weeks without ESPN on YouTube TV? That was like torture for sports fans! And now they're just going to magically appear again with all these new 'features'... a genre-specific package? Who needs that? Can't we just have everything thrown in together like before? πŸ€” And don't even get me started on the Disney+ thing, it's just trying to nickel-and-dime us into buying more stuff. I mean, can't they just let people watch whatever they want without having to choose between a million options? It's just too much drama for my taste πŸ˜’

omg u guys!! can't believe disney and espn are back on youtube tv πŸ™ŒπŸΌ after that crazy 2-week blackout 🀯 i was so stressed out not being able to watch my fave sports games or shows πŸ“ΊπŸ’₯ but now all the channels r back including abc, espn, and freeform πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ and like, espn is even throwing in this exclusive unlimited service for free πŸ€‘ talk about a win win situation πŸ†

omg what a relief finally getting to watch espn again without thinking about how much i'm gonna miss it lol πŸ˜‚πŸ’₯ so yeah i get why youtube tv would wanna keep those channels but i'm stoked they added the disney+ bundle thingy now that's like a dream come true for all you disney and espn fans out there πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ i mean what's not to love about getting access to all these popular services at a discounted rate? it's like youtube tv is trying to make up for that 2 week blackout πŸ˜’ and btw can we talk about how awesome bob iger and sundar pichai stepped in to negotiate this deal πŸ€πŸ‘

I'm so glad they're back! I was getting a little worried when those sports channels disappeared 🏈😬. It's nice to know that YouTube is listening and wants to keep its subscribers happy. The extra perks, like the ESPN Unlimited thing, are just cherry on top 😊. And let me tell you, having access to all those Disney networks again will be a game-changer for families and movie buffs 🍿πŸ‘ͺ. I'm also curious about this bundle deal - it could be a great way for people to save some cash πŸ€‘. One thing's for sure, though: I'll be keeping an eye on YouTube's updates from now on πŸ‘€.

omg can't believe disney and espn are back on youtube tv finally πŸ™ŒπŸΌ after that 2 week blackout lol sports fans were so stressed 😩 but now we get to watch our fave shows and events again yay πŸŽ‰ the bundle deal sounds like a dream come true tho Disney+ Hulu Bundle is a game changer for me 🀩

I'm glad they finally worked out an agreement πŸ™Œ! I mean, two weeks without Disney and ESPN on YouTube TV is just crazy talk 😩. Now we can watch our fave sports teams and shows again without having to jump between services all day. It's awesome that they're offering the ESPN Unlimited thing too - my nephew loves Monday Night Football and he won't have to pay extra for it 🀯! And I heard they're gonna bundle up Disney+ and Hulu with YouTube TV now, that's a game-changer! Back in my day we didn't have all these streaming services but this is the future and I'm here for it πŸ’»!
