I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with this cosplay thing... I mean, people dressing up in costumes and calling it an event? It just seems like a bunch of people showing off their creativity, but at what cost? All these vendors and sponsors are raking in cash off of our "enthusiasts". And the prize money is getting bigger and bigger... $7,000 for one costume? Is that really necessary? I'm just not convinced that this whole thing isn't just a fad waiting to happen.

oh man I'm literally so stoked for youmacon ! 20 years is insane and i can only imagine how crazy it must be to be a part of the community now. cosplay has come so far and it's amazing to see all these talented people coming together to share their passion. $7k in prizes is huge btw emily wallin-kale sounds like an amazing person too, i love that she's been representing the us in international competitions this make-and-take workshop is a genius idea tho, can't wait to see all these cosplayers bring their own creations to life and hatsune miku cosplay is always a winner
