Chill Returning to South Florida - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

A Cold Front to Bring Chill to South Florida, But Briefly

Another cold front is making its way towards South Florida, but it won't pack as much of a punch as its predecessor. Still, residents can expect a return to cooler temperatures and breezy winds by Friday morning.

As the front moves through, temperatures are expected to plummet, with inland areas potentially dropping into the mid-30s by nightfall. "Feels-like" temperatures will be significantly lower due to lingering winds, which could make it feel like it's in the low 30s for some residents.

However, coastal and metropolitan areas of Broward and Miami-Dade are expected to remain warmer, with lows in the low to mid-40s. The Florida Keys will experience a more moderate chill, with temperatures reaching the 50s.

A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for inland Broward and Miami-Dade from 3am to 9am on Friday due to the strong winds, but rain showers are expected to be brief and accompanied by storms that will actually help alleviate severe drought conditions in the area.

Don't worry, though - this cold snap won't last long. As the front passes, sunshine and warmer temperatures will return by the weekend, with highs climbing back into the low to mid 70s.

Stay safe out there, South Florida!

omg i just saw that cold front coming in for south florida like what a welcome change from all this heat 🀯 but kinda sad it's gonna be short lived lol will have to bundle up friday morning tho πŸ˜‚ how come inland areas get to enjoy the mid 30s while the rest of us are stuck at home sweating with 70 degree temps? πŸ˜’

I'm glad we're getting a bit of a chill in the air 🌫️! I was starting to think we were going to melt into the summer vibes forever. The idea that rain showers are actually gonna help with drought conditions is pretty cool (get it?) ☁️. Like, who knew Mother Nature could bring us relief while also giving us a little respite from the heat? Let's just hope these cooler temps stick around for at least a day or two... my plants will thank me 😊!

omg I'm so excited for a little chill in south florida πŸŒžπŸ‘— we've been boiling for months now and it's nice to know that the cold front is on its way πŸ’¨. I'm not expecting it to be super harsh or anything, but still, 30s in the midwest part of the state sounds like bliss ❄️. And hey, a little rain never hurt anyone πŸŒ‚οΈ. Plus, think of all the drought-stricken plants getting some love ☘️. Bring on the cooler temps and breezy winds, I'm so ready for it 😎!

oh man, i'm so glad we're gonna get a little chill in south florida πŸŒžβ„οΈ. those temperatures are like, woah... mid-30s?! that's crazy for this time of year. and the best part is, it's not like a big long cold snap or anything, it's just a quick visit from winter 😊. can't wait to get back into those comfy summer vibes soon πŸ’›. and yay for rain showers! drought conditions are no joke, so hopefully these storms do their thing and bring some relief πŸŒ‚. stay safe, south florida, but also get ready for sunshine and warmth by the weekend β˜€οΈ!

Wow πŸ‘... think its kinda weird that south florida gets like a mini winter visit every few months lol. makes you appreciate warmth when it comes back πŸ˜‚. interesting how this cold front will actually help with drought conditions though πŸŒΏπŸ’¦. hope everyone stays safe and dry over the weekend πŸ’¨

Brrr πŸ₯Ά I'm not a fan of sudden changes in weather, especially when it comes to cooler temps. Like, can we just have some sunshine and warmth for once? πŸ˜’ But I guess this cold front is better than nothing. It's good to see the rain showers will help alleviate those severe drought conditions, that's super important for our environment πŸŒΏπŸ’š. And hey, at least it won't last forever, warm temps are just around the corner β˜€οΈπŸŒ΄. Bring on the sunshine!

omg i'm so done with these weather swings lol πŸ€―β€β™€οΈ anyways did u know that this cold snap is basically just a normal part of florida's weather pattern? 🌞 we're talking like every few years or so the state goes through some kind of temperature shift. and btw did u see those temps in inland areas? mid-30s?! that's freakin chilly for south fl πŸ˜… here's a fun fact: according to national weather service data, this cold front is expected to bring about 1-2 inches of rain, which is pretty meh considering how dry the area has been lately πŸŒ‚

here's some stats: according to accuweather, there's a 30% chance of precipitation on friday with a 10% chance of severe thunderstorms. and did u know that florida averages around 60 days of frost per year? yeah it's cold here sometimes πŸ˜…

omg, can't believe we're getting a chill in south florida for real 🀯 like, I know it's not as bad as that other cold front but still lol. some ppl will be all grumpy cuz it's chilly outside but I'm low-key excited to wear a hoodie and boots again πŸ‘ πŸ‘–. hope the rain helps out the drought situation tho. btw, why do we have to deal with crazy weather fluctuations every few months? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

You know what's crazy? The fact that the politicians in Tallahassee are always talking about how much they care about Floridians being prepared for weather events, but when it comes down to it, they can't even agree on a standard warning system πŸ€”. I mean, who needs a Cold Weather Advisory if it's just going to be a quick chill and then sunshine back up? It seems like more of the same old partisan gridlock when it should be about keeping our communities safe πŸ’‘.

And have you noticed how the media only talks about the "cold front" but never mentions the bigger picture - climate change, for example? 🌎 I mean, we're talking about a state that's already struggling with droughts and extreme weather events. It's time to take a step back and think about what's really driving these kinds of events rather than just reacting to them with quick fixes ❄️.

Anyway, I guess it's nice that South Florida will get a break from the heat for a little while 🌴. But seriously, can't we do better than this? Shouldn't our leaders be working on long-term solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change rather than just treating symptoms? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm not sure I love or hate the idea of a cold front hitting south FL πŸ€”. On one hand, it's nice to have a break from the heat and humidity that can be pretty brutal during the summer months β˜€οΈ. But on the other hand, some people might get caught off guard by the strong winds and brief rain showers β›ˆοΈ. I think it's cool that the cold front is expected to alleviate severe drought conditions in the area - that's definitely a plus 🌱! And let's be real, who doesn't love a good excuse to break out the sweaters and cozy up with a hot cup of coffee β˜•οΈ? Still, I'm not sure I'm ready for it to get this chilly just yet ❄️. Bring on the sunshine by the weekend, please! 🌞

omg u guys a cold front is comin thru south florida πŸŒͺ️ but dont get too hyped its not gonna be as bad as last time lol. inland areas can expect temps in the mid 30s tho thats pretty chilly 😱 coastal areas are still gonna be warm tho like low to mid 40s. btw there's a cold weather advisory for friday mornin from 3am to 9am 🚨 but rain showers r actually a good thing for the drought. sunshine n warmer temps will b back by sunday tho 🌞🌴

🌞️ so a cold front is coming to south florida... good thing it's not too bad lol, won't be as harsh as last time. still, cooler temps and breezy winds by friday? yeah, about time we felt some relief from this drought. inland areas gonna be in the mid-30s? that's chilly! but at least rain showers are expected, so we'll get to see some of that moisture finally. glad it won't last long, i'm not ready for winter just yet πŸ˜…. anyway, thanks for the heads up, south florida! πŸ’¦

So they're tellin' us this cold front is just a weak one... I mean, what's the real story here? They're sayin' it's gonna bring some relief from drought, but let's be real, that's just a smokescreen. What if it's actually a test run for somethin' bigger? Maybe they're tryin' to get us used to cooler temps before... you know, the heat really comes back.

And have you seen those "Feels-like" temps? That's some fancy weather speak if you ask me. What are they hidin'? Are they actually measurin' it or just makin' it up as they go along?

I'm keepin' an eye on this one...

Ugh, another cold front, just what we need πŸ₯Ά. People are gonna freak out 'cause it's gonna feel like 30 degrees outside, even if the actual temp is only in the mid-40s. And don't even get me started on how short-lived this chill is - barely a weekend to enjoy before it's back to sweltering heat. Not exactly the best news for those who are still dealing with drought...

this cold snap is actually kinda nice lol imagine being able to wear a hoodie outside without sweating it's not all fun and games having this scorching heat every summer 🌴 anyway i think it's cool that some areas are getting a breather from the drought conditions hope it brings some relief to everyone in south florida

this cold front is a reminder that nothing lasts forever... we're always chasing the next warmth, the next feeling of comfort. but what's interesting is how our perception of 'cold' and 'warmth' can vary so much depending on where we are and who we are. like, do coastal areas really feel warmer than inland ones? or is it just that they're not as harshly affected by the cold?

I'm so over this crazy weather cycle 🀯. I mean, one day it's sweltering hot and the next, we're supposed to be all cozy and breezy? Can't our state just make up its mind already?! πŸ˜‚ But in all seriousness, a little chill is nice every now and then, especially after all that heat. It's like a breath of fresh air (no pun intended, Florida!). And I have to say, the fact that the cold front won't stick around for too long makes me even more excited for the weekend – time to break out those shorts and enjoy some sunshine 🌞!

OMG, I'm so done with these crazy weather swings 🀯! One minute it's scorching hot, next thing you know, we're talking chill vibes. I mean, who needs a real winter when we can just have a brief cold front? πŸ˜‚ But for real tho, I do hope the rain helps ease those drought conditions – our water bill is, like, totally out of control πŸ’¦. And can we talk about how some areas get to enjoy that mild chill while others are bracing for the worst? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Like, what's up with that?! Anyway, fingers crossed this cold snap is just a blip on the radar and we're back to sunshine and heat by the weekend β˜€οΈ.

Ugh, I love a good layout, but some news articles just do me in 😩. This one's got all the info, don't get me wrong, but it's like they're throwing everything at us and hoping we catch something 🀯. Start with the headline, make sure it's concise! "A Cold Front to Bring Chill to South Florida, But Briefly" is fine, but why not just use a shorter version? "Chill Warning for South Florida"? Boom πŸ’₯

And then they're like "Here's the deal, here are some temps..." πŸ“Š. Too much info at once! Break it down into sections, use clear headings and subheadings πŸ‘. And what's up with the formatting on the last paragraph? It looks like a messy paragraph bomb 🀯.

Anyway, I guess the good news is that it'll all be over soon 😌. Sunshine and warmer temps are back by the weekend 🌞. Just wish they'd format this thing better πŸ’β€β™€οΈ
