Black History Month centennial channels angst over anti-DEI climate into education, free resources

🤦‍♂️ I'm getting so tired of all these platform updates trying to make history months more inclusive. Can't we just have a simple celebration without all the fuss? 🙄 The new curriculum for Black History Month sounds great, but why do we need another resource or support system for teachers? Can't they just Google "how to teach Black History" like I did back in 2010 and be good to go? 😂

Ugh, can you believe this is happening again? I mean, I remember when Black History Month was first started back in the 80s, it was all about celebrating the struggles and achievements of African Americans. It wasn't always easy, but we knew how important it was to keep their stories alive.

Now, it feels like people are trying to erase that history altogether? Like, what's wrong with acknowledging our past mistakes and learning from them? I'm so tired of hearing that some folks think Black History Month is "too sensitive" or that it's not "relevant" anymore. Give me a break!

I love that there are still people like DeRay Mckesson and Angélique Roché out there fighting for the truth. And Jarvis Givens' book sounds like a must-read! It's crazy to think that we need to train a new generation of Black historians, but I guess that's what's happening now.

I remember when Opal Lee was still alive, she used to talk about how important it was to keep Juneteenth alive. Now, with this graphic novel and all the other efforts, I feel like we're finally getting there! 😊🎨

🤯 just read about this and I'm totally feeling the vibe! 🎉 celebrating black history month is SO important, especially with all the erasure happening. We need more voices like angélique roché's graphic novel, shedding light on these unsung heroes! 💫 Jarvis Givens' book is a game changer too, setting the record straight and giving us a deeper understanding of black history. 📚 let's keep pushing forward and make sure our youth are educated about the rich tapestry that is america's past! #BlackHistoryMonth #EducationMatters #TruthToPower

I'm like, totally obsessed with those graphic novels they're releasing 📚💥 I mean, who wouldn't want to learn about Opal Lee and Juneteenth? It's crazy how some people still don't know what they're missing. And I love that Jarvis Givens is out there setting the record straight - it's so refreshing to see someone like him advocating for accurate history lessons 🙌 Anyway, speaking of accurate history, have you guys ever tried making your own BBQ sauce from scratch? It's literally the best thing since sliced bread 🍗
