Spanish Artists Dominate PROMUSICAE Year-End Chart
For the third consecutive year, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny has taken the top spot on Spain's PROMUSICAE year-end chart as the country's top-selling artist. His album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" led the annual album sales chart for 22 weeks and earned a sextuple platinum certification from PROMUSICAE.
Rosalía, meanwhile, claimed the No.1 spot in vinyl sales with her experimental pop album "Lux," which debuted just seven weeks into the year but still managed to rank second on the overall album list due to strong sales and critical acclaim. The Spanish icon continues to cement her legacy as one of Spain's most celebrated artists.
Other notable success stories include W Sound and Beéle, who teamed up with Ovy on the Drums for the massive hit "La Plena (W Sound 05)," which became the year's most-streamed and best-selling song. The track achieved sextuple platinum status and sold over 600,000 units.
The PROMUSICAE report also highlights a surge in vinyl sales, increasing by 22% year-over-year, while CD sales showed a modest recovery of 2%. Streaming activity saw a 5.2% increase, with Spain recording 103.6 billion digital audio streams, accounting for 91% of overall music consumption.
"These figures are a reward for the sustained efforts of artists and producers to continue bringing the best of our talent to the Spanish public," said PROMUSICAE president Antonio Guisasola in a statement. "This interest is becoming increasingly evident as global music consumption rises, along with the number of paid subscriptions to streaming platforms and the purchase of physical formats such as vinyl."
