Super Bowl Party Hosts Take a Hit in the Wallet This Year
The average cost of hosting a Super Bowl party at home has increased by a small margin, despite the more expensive tickets for fans attending the big game in person. According to Wells Fargo's annual Super Bowl Food Report, the total bill for snacks and drinks will now cost around $140 per ten people, up just 1.6% from last year.
One reason behind this slight increase is the higher cost of shrimp, which has risen by a whopping 8.1%, averaging about $9.10 per pound. This comes after years of abundant supply led to lower prices for the seafood staple. Chicken wings, on the other hand, are down 2.7% year-over-year, with each pound costing around $3.47.
However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows when it comes to party snacks. Salsa has seen a significant increase of 1.7%, while onion-flavored dips have jumped by 1.5%. These price hikes are attributed to rising labor costs rather than increased ingredient prices.
While some party staples may be pricier this year, the cost savings from watching the Super Bowl at home will undoubtedly be substantial for many fans.

plus my credit card bill has been getting bigger and bigger every year ugh i think ill just be ordering pizza this year instead

. Now it seems like every single snack is gonna break the bank! 1.6% might not sound like a lot but trust me, that adds up quick. And shrimp? who knew they were gonna be so expensive all of a sudden? 
I mean, sure, snacks might cost a teensy bit more this yr, but think about it - u get to enjoy all ur fave foods from the comfort of ur own home w/ no need 2 deal w/ crazy stadium lines & security checks 
but yeah still gotta watch out for those party snacks prices 
But then I thought, 'wait a minute... that's still super reasonable!' Like, who needs to go all the way to the stadium just for $5 extra in snacks? 
. also, labor costs are a thing now? it feels like everything is just getting more expensive 
Either way, I'm sticking with my own Super Bowl party at home this year – no need to break the bank! 
it's like they're pricing us out of our own homes! But you know what really gets my goat? The labor costs thing... it just feels so fake, like corporations are trying to screw us over 
i was really looking forward to a chill day with friends but now i gotta shell out way more cash for snacks... $140 per 10 people? that's like, crazy! 
Guess you can't have cheap and fresh all at once. Still, chicken wings being cheaper is a bonus, and those onion-flavored dips aren't so bad either 
. All in all, it's just one of those things where everything else gets more expensive, but we can still find ways to enjoy the game without breaking the bank
