I'm low-key excited about Irene's collection coming up at Christie's I mean, it's not just rare art pieces, but an entire world of Old-World opulence that you can immerse yourself in. But what I'd love to see is a more diverse range of buyers, you know? Not just the usual suspects who've been collecting for decades. I think younger collectors are starting to get into 18th-century European art, and if they do, it could bring some fresh energy to the market
IM THINKING THE MARKET FOR OLD-WORLD OPULENCE IS GOING TO BE OKAY EVEN WITH THE CHANGE IN COLLECTORS' TASTE. PEOPLE MIGHT NOT BUY AS MUCH OF THAT STUFF, BUT THEY MIGHT START LOOKING FOR OTHER THINGS THAT ARE STILL EXCLUSIVE AND RARE. MAYBE SOMEONE WILL COME ALONG AND CREATE A NEW TREND OR SOMETHING
idk what's so special about collecting old stuff i mean i can appreciate the history and all but it seems like a bunch of rich people buying up art just cuz they're rich anyway im sure its gonna be some big deal for the auction crowd but to me its just old furniture and paintings maybe ill have to check it out when its on tv or somethin
