As Manchester City advance, should Eddie Howe be under pressure? | Football Weekly Extra – video

Eddie Howe's future at Newcastle United has been cast into doubt as Manchester City's title charge continues to gather momentum. The Magpies boss is facing growing speculation about his position, despite his impressive start to the season.

Howe has led Newcastle to several surprising victories, showcasing his tactical acumen and ability to get the best out of his players. However, this resurgence in form has not necessarily translated into sustained success. The team's inconsistent performances have raised questions about Howe's long-term viability at St James' Park.

As Manchester City continue to pull away from their title rivals, the pressure on Howe is mounting. Some have questioned whether his experience and reputation are enough to salvage Newcastle's campaign, while others believe that a change in management may be inevitable.

Newcastle United's owner, Yasir Al-Rumayyithi, has been tight-lipped about the future of his manager, fueling speculation about a potential overhaul. Meanwhile, Howe remains committed to his role at St James' Park, insisting that he is focused on achieving success with the team rather than worrying about his own job security.

Despite this, the weight of expectation hangs over Howe like a cloud. Can Newcastle United overcome their inconsistent form and achieve a top-four finish? Will Eddie Howe's experience be enough to see them through, or will the pressure prove too much to bear? Only time will tell.

I'm thinking... if you look at it from this angle, is it possible that we're living in a world where success is defined by external validation? Like, people are rooting for Eddie Howe because of his experience and reputation, but what if he's just holding on to his job out of obligation rather than genuine passion? I mean, the pressure to perform can be suffocating... 🤯

I don't think it's that surprising that Howe's future is in doubt 🤔. I mean, Manchester City are on fire right now and they're not going to stop anytime soon. Newcastle's form has been inconsistent and if they can't get their acts together, it's hard to see them staying up there with City. That being said, Howe has done a great job so far and he deserves some credit for getting the team to those surprising victories 😊. But at the end of the day, you've got to deliver results and consistently do well over 38 games. If Newcastle can't manage that, it's gonna be tough to keep Howe on 🤞.

I'm not surprised that Eddie Howe's future is being questioned 🤔. I mean, come on, we've been seeing some amazing performances from Newcastle, but they're still just a one-win wonder 🏆. And let's be real, the team's inconsistency has got to be a major concern. It's like they're playing different teams at home and away, you know?

I think what's really bothering me is that the pressure on Howe is coming from all sides 🤯. The fans are getting restless, the players seem uncertain, and now even the owner is being tight-lipped about his future 🤐. It's like they're waiting for someone else to fix the problem, but no one else is stepping up.

You know what would be good? If we saw some actual investment in the squad 🔹. Not just splashing cash on anyone who thinks it'll solve the problem, but actually strengthening the team with some quality signings. That way, we can build a solid foundation and work towards consistency 🔒. Until then, I'm not holding my breath 💔.

Ugh, can't these forum mods just let people have a decent discussion without all the drama 🤯💔 I mean, come on, how many times do we need to refresh this page because someone's "speculating" about Eddie Howe's future? Can't we just focus on the actual football match results or something? 😩 The constant rumors and speculations are so annoying... 🙄

I gotta say, I'm loving how this season is kicking off for Manchester City 💥😎. They're looking like solid contenders for that title, and it's gonna be tough for anyone to stop 'em now. Meanwhile, Newcastle's just stuck in the middle, can't seem to make up their minds about what they want to achieve 🤔👀. I mean, Eddie Howe's done alright so far, but you gotta wonder if he's got what it takes to lead them all the way to the end. It's a shame, really, 'cause I think Newcastle's got some great talent 💪🏽. Maybe they just need someone with a bit more... flair? 🤷‍♂️

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s weird that people are already doubting Eddie Howe after just a few months in charge 😕. The guy got Newcastle off the ground and they were getting decent results, yeah it's not perfect but you can't expect miracles. City is on fire this season and people are saying we need to be worried about Man U? 🤷‍♂️ Like what's new? Howe has some experience under his belt and he's been doing alright so far, let’s see how it plays out. Can’t just write off a manager after one or two ups and downs 💔. St James’ Park needs to stick with him if they want someone who knows what they’re doing 🤞

I'm not surprised by this drama unfolding at St James' Park 🤔. It's like they say: "you can't keep a good man down"... until you do 😒. Howe has been holding it together with some miracle tactics, but it's only a matter of time before the whole thing falls apart. I mean, let's be real, Newcastle's inconsistent form is a red flag 🔭. They can't even get a win to save their lives, and now they're counting on Howe's experience to bail them out? Yeah, right 😂. It's just a matter of time before the board comes knocking and yanks him from his post. I wouldn't be surprised if he's out by the end of the season ⏰.

Ugh, it's just crazy how much pressure is on that poor manager! 🤯 I mean, he's doing a great job and all, but can't you just take a deep breath and enjoy the ride for once? 😂 Back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy pundits and experts telling us what's best for the club. We just watched the game and enjoyed it, you know? 🏟️ It's like he's under a microscope or something! 👀 Anyway, I hope he can turn things around and get that top-four finish. The Magpies deserve better than to be stuck in limbo 💔

I'm surprised by all the drama surrounding Eddie Howe 🤔. I think he's done a great job at Newcastle so far, and it's easy to forget that they were rubbish last season 😂. But seriously, you can't blame him for not getting a top-four finish with such a weak squad. The pressure on him is huge, but I think his experience will help them out in the long run 🙏. The question is, what's going to happen when he loses a game? Can they go back to him or do they need someone with a fresh perspective? 🤔

I think it's awesome that we're getting to see some drama in the football world! I mean, who doesn't love a good managerial transfer saga 🤔? Eddie Howe is still doing an incredible job, and Newcastle United is already showing signs of improvement. It's just like they say, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" 😊. If things don't work out with Howe, I'm sure the club will find another gem to manage. And who knows, maybe a change in management will be exactly what they need to kick-start their season! 🌟 The football world is full of surprises, and I love it for that 💪.

Eddie Howe is in a tougher spot than trying to get my aunt to eat Brussels sprouts 🤣. Seriously though, Newcastle United needs to figure out what they want - do they go for stability and a decent season or try to shake things up and hope for the best? And poor Yasir Al-Rumayyithi is caught in the middle like a referee trying to keep a bunch of rowdy kids apart 🤯. Either way, it's gonna be a wild ride! 😂

🤔 I'm kinda wondering what's going on with Manchester City... they're like 3-0 ahead of everyone else in the league right now 🏆👀 and it's making me think that maybe Newcastle United should just sit back and watch them win the title instead of trying to chase after them themselves? 😂 I mean, have you seen how well they've been playing? 🤯 It would be nice if they could get some consistency going, but I guess only time will tell if Eddie Howe can turn things around for the team 💭

man i cant help but think of graham carrs time at newcastle back in 97/98 - they had some decent results and were top of the table for a hot sec lol didnt last long tho. anyway eddie howe seems like a good guy, always has been, and he's trying his best with what he's got but u gotta wonder if he can get the squad to gel properly... dont wanna be too harsh but we all remember john carver at st james park 🙃😒

I feel bad for eddie howe lol he's done okay so far but if man city keep winning and newcastle lose some more games it's gonna get harder for him to hold on to his job 🤦‍♂️💔 maybe the owner should just be straight with us about what's going on instead of keeping us in suspense?

idk why ppl r already thinkin eddie howe should go 🤔 he's done alright so far, got us some big wins and shown what we're capable of! if man city keep pullin away from us, i guess it'd be a shame to sack him mid-season 😒 but if we cant get our act together, maybe change is needed 💡

I'm telling you, the pressure on Howe is gonna make him crack 🤯. He's been doing alright, but that resurgence in form has been a bit of a tease, you know? One week they're flying high, next week they're back to square one. It's like they can't even be bothered to string together two decent performances in a row.

And let's be real, City is just killing it this season 🚀. They're gonna run away with the title and leave everyone else in their dust. Howe needs to step up his game if he wants to keep his job at Newcastle. I'm not saying he can't do it, but it's getting harder by the day.

And what's with all the speculation? If Howe was as great a manager as people say he is, wouldn't he be managing City instead of Newcastle? 🤔 Maybe it's time for a change, maybe it's time for someone new to come in and shake things up. Who knows, maybe that's exactly what Newcastle needs 💥

🤔 I mean, come on guys... can't they just give the guy some breathing room? He's done alright with the team so far and we're still in it! Let's not jump to conclusions about his job security just yet. Newcastle United needs stability, not constant drama and speculation. 😬 And what's up with the owner being tight-lipped about everything? It's like they're trying to fuel the fire or something 🙄. How about some honesty for once? Do we really need a constant guessing game? 🤷‍♂️

I think its time for a change at St James' Park tbh 💡👎 The Magpies have been inconsistent all season and they need someone with more fire in their belly to take them to the next level 🚀💨 I mean, Eddie's done alright so far but he can't keep relying on lucky wins all the time 🤦‍♂️ Newcastle deserve better than just making up numbers on the scoreboard 📊👍 The pressure is mounting and it's only gonna get worse if they don't start winning some proper games 🏆🔥

I'm not sure what to make of this situation 🤔. On one hand, I think it's great that Newcastle is getting some unexpected results under Howe, but on the other hand, his job security seems to be hanging by a thread 🕸️. It's like, if he can keep this momentum going, maybe they can turn their season around and get into Europe. But if not... 😬 I'm not sure what will happen next. The fans must be getting worried, and it's hard for the team to build any real momentum when there's always this cloud of uncertainty hanging over them ⛅️. Still, Howe seems like a decent guy and he's definitely got some qualities that make him a good manager, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens 💔
