Ariana Grande to make London stage debut alongside Jonathan Bailey in Sunday in the Park With George

Ariana Grande Set for London Stage Debut in Sunday in the Park With George

Pop sensation Ariana Grande is joining forces with actor Jonathan Bailey to bring Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park With George to the Barbican Centre in London this summer. The highly anticipated production, directed by Marianne Elliott, marks Grande's long-awaited London theatre debut.

Based on the life of 19th-century pointillist Georges Seurat, Sunday in the Park With George tells the story of two artists: one inspired by Seurat and his great-grandson. Bailey will reprise his role from a previous production, while Grande will make her stage debut as Glinda, playing alongside other unknown cast members.

Elliott's direction was previously seen to critical acclaim with her revival of Company in 2018, earning several Olivier Awards, including Best Musical Revival and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Bailey. This summer, Grande is set to embark on the Eternal Sunshine tour, performing at the O2 Arena in London from May.

Designs for Sunday in the Park With George will be handled by Tom Scutt, who previously worked on the revival of Sondheim's Into the Woods at the Bridge Theatre in London. Further casting announcements are expected later this year, with tickets set to go on sale in May. The show marks a reunion between Bailey and Grande, who previously starred together alongside fellow musical castmates in Wicked.

omg i'm so hyped for Ariana's stage debut!!! she's been killing it in the music industry for years now 🤩 and it's amazing that she's taking on a role like Glinda, it's gonna be insane to see her bring that character to life on stage 💫 I mean, Jonathan Bailey is already a pro at this, but Ariana's got those pipes for days 🎶 can't wait to see the designs by Tom Scutt too, something about the Barbican Centre just feels so fancy and artsy 🏛️ what do you guys think of Sunday in the Park With George, any pre-show expectations? 😁

Just saw that Ariana Grande is going to be in Sunday in the Park With George at the Barbican Centre! 🤩 I'm not sure about this one... I mean, I love Ariana's music but theatre isn't really my thing. I've heard great things about Marianne Elliott though - she did a fantastic job with Company last time around. But some people are saying that Grande might be miscast as Glinda, considering her more pop persona. I think the show is still going to be amazing, but maybe it's just not the right fit for Ariana? Either way, can't wait to see what Tom Scutt comes up with on the designs! 🎨

Ariana Grande is soooo gonna kill it on stage 🤩! She's been grinding for years and now she's finally getting her due. Sunday in the Park With George is such a classic show, I'm hyped to see how Marianne Elliott brings it to life with Grande and Jonathan Bailey 👏. And can you believe Tom Scutt is designing the sets? That guy's skills are on point 🎨. Can't wait for the tour, gonna get my tickets ASAP 💼. May be the best summer ever 😎

🎭 just saw that Ariana Grande is doing Sunday in the Park With George 🌅 in London summer... gonna be super interesting seeing her on stage 🤔 i mean she's got a huge following but has she got what it takes to carry a show like this ? 🎬 think it's cool she's taking on a role that requires some real acting skills, not just singing and dancing 💁‍♀️ fingers crossed for her debut performance 🌟

I'm literally so stoked for Ariana Grande's stage debut in Sunday in the Park With George 🤩... I mean, what if she's totally miscast as Glinda? Maybe she'd be way better suited to a different role? 🤔 I've heard mixed things about Marianne Elliott's direction, some people love her work while others think it's a bit too gimmicky. 🎭

But at the same time, can you blame the Barbican Centre for wanting Ariana Grande on their stage? She's a global superstar and this show is super popular... I bet she'll totally bring her A-game to this production 💃. And Jonathan Bailey is amazing, so it's hard not to be excited about them both being in this together 🤝.

Ugh, what if the show is more than I'm expecting? 😬 I mean, would it even matter if it's good or bad? The ticket prices are kinda steep... 💸.

Ariana Grande is about to slay the London stage scene! 🤩 I've been waiting for her theatre debut for ages, and it's finally happening! She's going to rock the role of Glinda in Sunday in the Park With George, and I'm beyond excited. Jonathan Bailey is already amazing in his role, so I have no doubt Grande will bring that same magic to the stage.

This production is shaping up to be a total game-changer for theatre in London. Marianne Elliott's direction is always top-notch, and with Tom Scutt handling the designs, this show is going to look absolutely stunning. I'm also loving the fact that Bailey and Grande are reuniting on stage – their chemistry was amazing in Wicked, so I have high hopes for their collaboration again.

Grande is already killing it in music, and now she's going to take her talents to the theatre world? Bring. It. On! 💥 I'm counting down the days until May and the Eternal Sunshine tour kicks off...

I'm not sure how I feel about Ariana Grande taking over the lead role in Sunday in the Park With George 🤔. Don't get me wrong, she's an incredible singer, but this is a super complex and nuanced show that requires a lot of acting chops too. Is her stage debut gonna be enough to carry the weight of such an iconic production? 🤑 I'm also curious about how they're gonna make Glinda work for Grande - it's a pretty big role. And have you seen the other cast members? Not much is out about them yet... 🤔👀

🤩 I'm soooo hyped for Ariana Grande's London theatre debut in Sunday in the Park With George 🌃🎭! She's gonna slay as Glinda 💄🔥 and bring that signature Grande sass to the stage 😏. Jonathan Bailey is already a pro, can't wait to see them reunite from Wicked days 🔮💫. Marianne Elliott's direction is always on point 🌟 and with Tom Scutt's designs, it's gonna be a visual feast 🎨👀. Barbican Centre, here we come! 📍 Get those tickets ready for May 📅, can't miss this epic musical! 🎵

So Ariana Grande is finally gonna hit up that stage in London 🤩🎭 I mean we've all seen her slay the mic at her concerts but bringing Sunday in the Park With George to life is a whole new level, you feel? The production is being directed by Marianne Elliott who has done an insane job with her musicals in the past. It's gonna be interesting seeing Ariana take on Glinda and how she'll bring that character to life. I'm curious about the casting announcements too - who else is gonna be part of this talented crew? I've been following Jonathan Bailey's work and he's always been so talented, it's cool that they're reuniting him with Ariana. The Eternal Sunshine tour starts in May at the O2 Arena, anyone got a ticket yet?

So Ariana Grande is finally making her stage debut in Sunday in the Park With George... about time, right? 😂 I mean, she's been killing it on tour for years, but this is a whole different level of cool. Playing Glinda must be nerve-wracking, especially with Marianne Elliott at the helm - that woman knows how to bring out the best in her actors. And Jonathan Bailey is back as Georges Seurat, which I'm sure will be epic. Tom Scutt's designs are always on point too, so this production is shaping up to be a real treat. I'm kinda curious to see what the rest of the cast is like, but who knows, maybe they'll surprise us? 🎭

OMG, i cant believe we're finally getting to see ARIANA GRANDE LIVE ON STAGE!!! 💥 she's always been my fave artist and now she's gonna be singing her heart out on stage!!! 😍 i'm so down for sunday in the park with george, marianne elliototts direction is EVERYTHING!!! 🤩 and jonathan bailey is already an amazing actor, cant wait to see him & ariana perform together again! its gonna be such a magical show!!! ✨

Just saw that Ariana Grande is doing Sunday in the Park With George at the Barbican Centre... pretty cool! She's been missing from live shows for ages 🤔. I hope she can bring some of that high-energy vibe to the role 😊. Jonathan Bailey is a great guy, always seems so charming on screen 👍. Also, Elliott's direction has always gotten me pumped up 🎉. Maybe this show will be the one that brings Grande back for good? Fingers crossed! 💫

🎭 think it's gonna be lit! Ariana Grande is finally making her stage debut in London and she's gonna bring that pop vibes to the Barbican Centre. Jonathan Bailey is already a pro from their Wicked days, so I'm hyped for this collab. 🤩 Marianne Elliott's direction has been fire lately, so fingers crossed it carries over to this show too! 👏 The fact that they're doing Seurat's life story in the musical is pretty cool, not many people know about him. Can't wait for May and some good ol' fashioned London theatre magic 🌃

So Ariana Grande is finally hitting the London stage scene 🎭, but you know what's weird? She's joining this super prestigious musical like Sunday in the Park With George, which has won all these awards under Marianne Elliott's direction 🏆... I mean, I'm all for people pushing boundaries and trying new things, but isn't this just a case of the music industry throwing a bunch of money at a classic play to try and appeal to a younger crowd? 💸 Like, are we really just going to ignore the fact that Elliott's direction is what got this show its awards in the first place? 🤔 It's almost like she's being co-opted by the establishment... anyway, I'm excited to see Grande shine on stage, but can't help feeling like there's more to this production than meets the eye 🎭💪

🎭🌆 so ariana grande is finally going to perform live on stage in london! 🤩 she's been teasing us for ages with her music vids but this is gonna be a whole new level of entertainment... I'm low-key excited to see how her vocals will translate to a musical setting 🎶

the cast looks like it's gonna be fire, especially jonathan bailey as he's amazing in wicked too 🤩 but i'm curious about the designs for sunday in the park with george - has anyone seen the blue period art style of georges seurat before? 💙 that's what drew me to this production in the first place

fingers crossed the show will be a hit and we get to see more live performances from ariana grande soon 🎉

Man, I'm hyped for Ariana's London theatre debut! She's been dominating the music scene for years, but it's cool to see her take on stage in such an iconic show 🤩. The combination of Jonathan Bailey and Marianne Elliott's direction is gonna be 🔥. Sunday in the Park With George has always been a thought-provoking musical, exploring themes of creativity, inspiration, and artistic expression. I wonder how Grande will bring Glinda to life - it'll be interesting to see her tap into that character's quirks and charm 💃. The fact that this production is happening at the Barbican Centre is also super exciting for London's theatre scene 🎭. Can't wait to snag those tickets in May!
