Anthony Joshua pays emotional tribute in new YouTube video

Anthony Joshua has released a heartfelt video message to his fans, paying tribute to the late Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele who passed away in a car crash in Nigeria on December 29. The former world heavyweight champion, 36, sustained minor injuries in the incident but was lucky to escape with his life.

Joshua's emotional video message, which he posted on YouTube, thanked fans for their outpouring of support during this difficult time. He expressed his gratitude to those who showed him love and care when he needed it most, saying "I've lost people before, but I don't think I've lost people like that".

The two friends were not only close teammates but also like brothers to Joshua, having formed a strong bond over the years. Ghami was Joshua's strength and conditioning coach, while Ayodele was his personal trainer.

Joshua has been open about the traumatic experience of losing his loved ones in such a tragic manner. However, he chose to channel his grief into something positive by sharing this heartfelt message with his fans.

He also spoke about how Ghami and Ayodele's deaths have made him realize that "one day my time will come" but he is not scared, adding that knowing they are on the other side makes everything more bearable. He vowed to help their families achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.

Joshua has returned to training at the gym in recent days, posting a Snapchat video of himself hitting the pads, which was interpreted as "mental strength therapy".

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes Joshua will return to boxing when the time is right, adding that he has been supporting his friend during this difficult period.

Ugh I'm still tryna process this man's emotions 😩... Anthony Joshua just dropped this super raw vlog and it's honestly giving me ALL THE FEELS 🀯. Like, you can literally see the pain and grief in his eyes, but at the same time, he's trying to keep it together for everyone else's sake πŸ™. I love how he's acknowledging that losing loved ones is traumatic, but instead of dwelling on it, he's choosing to focus on helping their families achieve their goals πŸ’ͺ. That's real talk, Anthony! And can we talk about Eddie Hearn for a sec? πŸ€” He's gotta be one of the most supportive promoters out there, always having his back even when things get tough πŸ‘Š. Let's keep sending love and positivity to Joshua and his fam during this tough time πŸ’•

I'm really saddened by what happened to Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele πŸ€•... I mean, losing friends like that is just too much, you know? Anthony Joshua's video message was so emotional, it made me wanna cry 😭. He's been through some tough times before, but this one feels different... the way he's talking about how his loved ones passing away makes him think about his own mortality, it's like, whoa 🀯.

But what I love most about Anthony Joshua is that he's choosing to use his pain for good, and sharing this with his fans shows that he's strong enough to do so πŸ’ͺ. It's amazing how supportive his friends and family are too - Eddie Hearn just saying that Joshua will get back into boxing when the time is right, makes sense to me πŸ€“. Fingers crossed Anthony Joshua can find some peace of mind and focus on helping Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele's families in any way he can...

man 😊 so sad about sina and latif πŸš—πŸ’” they were like brothers to antony, can't imagine what he's going through rn... but you gotta give him props for keeping it positive and talking about how their deaths made him realize his own mortality, like, we're all gonna be here sooner or later right? πŸ‘Š anyway, glad eddie's being supportive, Joshua needs his crew around him πŸ’•

Wow 🀯 Anthony Joshua's message to his fans is so touching, you can feel how much it means to him ❀️. Losing someone close like Ghami and Latif is just devastating, I'd be lost if I had to deal with that kinda loss 😩. But Josh being the champ he is, choosing to focus on positivity instead of letting grief consume him is super inspiring πŸ’ͺ. And his mental strength therapy session on Snapchat was really interesting πŸ€”, hope his training goes smoothly soon πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

man... just watching anthony joshua's emotional vid and it's really touching 😊... seems like those guys were more than just teammates, they were like brothers to him... can't imagine how tough this must be for him πŸ€•... but i've got to respect how he's choosing to channel his grief into something positive and helping out the families of latif and sina πŸ’―... and honestly, eddie hearn saying joshua will return to boxing when the time is right feels like a good vibe too 😌

πŸ˜” my thoughts are with Anthony and the families of Sina & Latif πŸ™... losing people like that is just so heartbreaking it's like a punch in the gut πŸ’”... I can imagine how close they were to each other, it's like they were brothers too πŸ‘«... Anthony's been through this before but I think he's right, his friends' deaths have made him realize just how precious life is πŸ•°οΈ... and that he should enjoy every moment with the people he loves πŸ’–... mental strength therapy is real, Anthony can take comfort in knowing he's not alone in feeling the way he does πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ‘Š... I'm sending all my love to Anthony, Sina's family & Latif's family πŸŒŽπŸ’•

omg πŸ˜±πŸ’” Anthony Joshua's video message gave me chills 🀯! i'm so glad he's being strong for his friends' families πŸ™πŸŒŸ Ghami and Latif were like brothers to him, it's sad they had to leave us too soon 😒. Joshua is a total boss πŸ’ͺ, not just in boxing but also as a person ❀️. I love how he chose to focus on positivity instead of letting his emotions get the best of him 🌞. mental strength therapy is a real thing πŸ‘Š and we're all rooting for him to come back stronger than ever πŸ’₯πŸ‘

omg i feel so bad for anthony joshua πŸ˜” he's such a strong guy but losing those two guys must be rly tough on him they were like brothers to him and now they're gone πŸ’” i'm glad he shared that video message with his fans it's really beautiful how he said they'll always be with him even though they're not here anymore πŸ€— i can imagine how scared he must have been in that car crash but luckily he's ok πŸ™ and now he's going back to training which is a good sign πŸ₯Š lets hope eddie hearn is right and anthony joshua will return to boxing soon πŸ’ͺ

Wow 🀯, Anthony Joshua's message is so touching! Interesting how he's finding ways to channel his grief into something positive, like mental strength therapy πŸ’ͺ. His bond with Ghami and Ayodele was really strong, it's no wonder they felt like brothers to him. Glad to hear that Eddie Hearn has been supporting him during this tough time 🀝.

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Can you believe Joshuas's training is actually mental health? Like, isn't that what therapy is for? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ He's hitting pads on Snapchat and calling it a "mental strength therapy session" - sounds legit πŸ˜‚. On a more serious note, I'm glad he's finding ways to cope with his loss, but still... πŸ™„ minor injuries in a car crash? That's just crazy. Glad no one else was hurt πŸ’”. Fingers crossed Eddie Hearn is right and Joshuas will be back in the ring when he's ready πŸ’ͺ. πŸš—

Ugh, it's so sad when people like Latif 'Latz' Ayodele and Sina Ghami pass away like that πŸ€•πŸš—πŸ˜’ Anthony Joshua is such a strong guy, but even he couldn't hide how emotional his video message was - I mean, who wouldn't be? 😭 Losing someone you love in a car crash is just devastating.

I think it's amazing that AJ (as we Brits call him) chose to share this with his fans instead of bottling it up. It takes a lot of courage to talk about your feelings like that πŸ’ͺ. And I'm so touched by how grateful he is for all the love and support - we should all be more like him πŸ€—.

And honestly, who can blame him for being scared? Losing loved ones in such a tragic way must be really tough on anyone 😨. But it's great to hear that knowing his friends are on the other side makes everything more bearable πŸ’«.

Let's hope AJ can get back to boxing when he's ready - I miss watching him fight πŸ₯Š!

πŸ€• gotta respect anthony joshua's honesty about dealing with loss... it takes a big man to be so open about his emotions. i mean, losing friends in such a tragic way must be super tough for him, but instead of bottling it up he's using it as an opportunity to spread love and support πŸ€—. it's great to see him prioritizing the families of sina ghami and latif 'latz' ayodele - that's what truly matters during this time. πŸ’•
